This CM's Convoy Is India's Most Rugged Politician Convoy: Only Toyotas And Mahindras

We recently came across an image where we saw Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs being used by the Nagaland State Police. We featured images and videos of the same car on the internet. After the images, we now have a new video that has surfaced online where we see the convoy of the Nagaland Chief Minister with over 30 cars, including Thar Roxx. It is probably one of the most rugged-looking ministerial convoys in the country, with mostly Toyotas and Mahindras.
The video has been shared by Seyiekhotuo Chucha on his Instagram page. As per the post, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his team were visiting a village named Phesama in Nagaland. The village was affected by a landslide, and the team was visiting to see the situation or damage.
Coming to the video, we see a long convoy of SUVs which includes the Chief Minister's car as well. In front, there were two Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs in a white shade. These are the same SUVs that the state police had inducted recently.
Just behind the Roxx 4x4s, we see a black Toyota Fortuner with a Thule box on the roof. Behind the black Fortuner, we see a lineup of white Fortuner SUVs followed by a couple of more Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs. The pattern of the convoy was broken by a Maruti Jimny, and we also see a bunch of Mahindra Boleros, Scorpios, a Ford Endeavour, and Toyota Innovas. There are at least 34 cars in the convoy, including the Innova Crystas at the end.
The whole convoy was dominated by Toyotas and Mahindras. We are not sure which car the minister was travelling in. Looking at the conditions, we assume that most vehicles seen here in the convoy are either 4x4s or RWDs.
It looks like the minister and his team had intentionally picked rugged SUVs so that they could reach the affected areas without any issues. Having an SUV always helps in such situations, especially in terrain like the one seen in the video.
Due to heavy rains and landslides, the mud track which people usually use to travel gets blocked or becomes slippery. With cars like the Fortuner, Mahindra Scorpio, Thar Roxx, and even the Endeavour, the team can actually access the affected areas.
If you watch the video carefully, you will notice that some of the SUVs in the convoy have been modified or equipped with off-road spec tyres, which offer better traction in slush or slippery surfaces.
The comment section of the video is filled with criticism directed at the Chief Minister. Some of the comments under this video are: “Someone needs to educate our ministers about air pollution.... ? Just for one person, this many cars?” “I won't have that many cars even on my wedding day ?” “The number of cars used for inspecting a landslide is way too less... Should not be less than 200 cars in the next slide visit... ?” “Even PM Modi doesn't have that much convoy.” “30+ vehicles to inspect a landslide... Nagaland VIPs need to learn about simplicity from Meghalaya's VIPs.”
