Kia is one of the latest brands to enter the Indian market. They have done their homework and have managed to crack the formula for the Indian market. They currently offer a variety of SUVs and MUVs in both the affordable and premium segments. As part of their expansion plans, Kia intends to introduce more models to the market, including EVs. Here, we have a list of three such electric Kia models lined up for India.

Kia EV6

The first on the list is also the most expensive. While Kia introduced the EV9 last year, it is more of a halo product, and Kia does not aim to sell it in large numbers. However, the EV6 has received a positive response since its launch, and at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo this year, Kia unveiled the facelifted version of this electric crossover.

The EV6 gets several cosmetic changes on the outside, including redesigned headlamps, a new front grille, a revised bumper, and updated wheels. The EV6 facelift features up to 15 upgrades, such as new 19-inch glossy-finish alloy wheels, distinctive Star Map illumination with connected DRLs, and star-map LED rear combo lamps.

Kia also offers a fingerprint sensor for keyless driver recognition, a digital IRVM, 27 ADAS features, and more. In terms of specifications, the Kia EV6 now comes with a larger 84 kWh battery pack, replacing the older 77.4 kWh unit. It offers a claimed range of 650 km. Kia is expected to launch the EV6 facelift by March this year.

Carens EV

The next EV on the list is the Carens EV. Kia has been testing this electric MUV for quite some time. We now know that the Carens EV will be based on the facelifted version of the Carens, which is expected to launch in the coming months. The Carens EV is not a ground-up EV but is based on the ICE version.

It will have the battery pack mounted under the floor. As of now, there is no clarity on the battery pack options, but there is a possibility that Kia might use the same 51.4 kWh battery pack from the Creta EV in the Carens EV. Kia may also offer a larger battery version with an extended range. The Carens EV will feature premium offerings such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats, seat ventilation for both front and rear passengers, Level 2 ADAS, and more. The Carens EV is likely to be launched in the first half of 2025, where it will compete with the likes of the Tata Safari EV.

Syros EV

The third EV on the list is the Syros EV. Kia will be launching the Syros SUV in the coming weeks. Alongside the ICE version, Kia also has plans to introduce an EV variant of the Syros. The electric SUV is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026. It will compete with models such as the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nexon.ev, and MG ZS EV.

It is based on the same K1 platform as the ICE version, and we can expect it to feature Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The exterior design will incorporate EV-specific changes to differentiate it from the ICE version. The Kia Syros EV is likely to be priced in the ₹15-20 lakh range.
