A wedding is indeed one of the most special and auspicious occasions in Indian culture. People make extra effort to give the bride and groom the best entries possible. An unusual wedding entry of a couple is now taking the internet by storm, mostly not in their favour! An Instagram reel showing their entry has crossed 15 million views and is still counting! The couple here decided to make their entry on what looks like an imitation of the ‘War Machine’ from the Sandeep Vanga movie ‘Animal’. The internet soon slammed the newly wed to an extent they’d never forget…

The video looks like an afterparty where the bride and groom are making a grand entry. Usually, we see high-end and luxury cars being used for this. Here, however, they recreated the War Machine- a mobile machine gun that was shown in the Animal movie. It was one of the most important prop-hooks of the 2023 blockbuster.

In the movie, Ranbir Kapoor was seen murdering hundreds of people with it, in a grippy action sequence. The ‘War Machine’ as it was called in the movie, was delivered to Ranbir’s hotel and the scene in which it was introduced to the viewers garnered much applause. The scene had the weapons engineer- an ex-army man- describe it as ‘ Imagined in Delhi, manufactured in Bangalore, assembled in Maharashtra- 100% made in India. Atmanirbhar Bharat.’

Later scenes revealed that it was a 500-kilogram machine gun with a very high firing rate. It had wheels and a propelling mechanism. As the engineer says in the movie, you’d have to climb onto it, sit, press the button, engage the gear, move around, and fire. The protagonist killed around 300 people in the movie, with the war machine.

The weapon was featured in the trailer and rose to such huge popularity that the movie’s promotional campaigns included featuring it outside major movie houses in Mumbai, for the people to see and snap selfies with. Reports back then stated that it took the Animal team 100 men, five months and 500 kilos of steel to build the prop!

Paying attention to the prop was important as it was being featured in a super-significant 18-minute scene just before the interval. The cost involved remains unclear but seems to have paid off well with the film’s huge commercial success.

Circling back to the wannabe Bollywood couple. They made a cheap copy of the moving machine gun and used it for their entry! Imagine a newlywed couple sitting on a cheap-copy machine gun that looks funny rather than bossy- well, here you go! Thankfully, unlike the original prop which was a strict single-seater, this war machine has a second seat for the bride. Like the OG, the inspired version also has rotating barrels and steel pipes that look like those of a gun.

Unlike the movie prop, this machine doesn’t come with (imitation) ammo belts. However, to spice things up further, it gets smoke machines inside, that let out smoke through the barrels. Details of the propulsion system- if it is electric or has a tiny engine- remain unclear at the moment.

Netizens reacted roughly to the video. They are mocking the couple for their act. All the efforts that this groom took to make people say ‘wah! kya entry maara bhai ne!’ seems to have been in vain!
