Jaguar, Porsche And Mercedes Worth Over 3 Crore Seized From Woman Fraudster [Video]
We have come across several instances where cops have actually caught people who have been cheating locals and have done several frauds. In most cases, the culprits spend the money to lead a luxury lifestyle and buy properties, expensive cars and SUVs. When they get caught these assets are all seized by the investigation agencies. One such case that has come to light recently is from Odisha, where cops have arrested Hansita Abhilipsa and Anil Kumar Mohanty in connection with a high-profile fraud case. The agency has also seized Jaguar, Porsche and Mercedes luxury cars owned by the fraudsters.
Hansita Abhilipsa and Anil Kumar Mohanty are accused of impersonating as daughter and son-in-law of Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary P.K Mishra. Using this fake identity, they have approached several businessmen and contractors with promise of getting their tenders approved. They have also lied about knowing several popular personalities like celebrities and politicians.
Most of the businessmen targeted by the duo were owners of mines or were from the construction industry. Hansita has also posed as the wife of several high-profile businessmen, bureaucrats, and politicians. She probably made changes to the idetity as per the requirement in the plan.
One of the mine owner who had fell for the fraudulant act by the duo, lodged a complaint and that led to an investigation in the case. The investigation revealed the scam and it is alleged that Hansita Abhilipsa and Anil Kumar Mohanty have ammased wealth worth Rs 80 crore. In the video that have surfaced online, we see the expensive cars that were bought by the culprits.
We see a Porsche Panamera finished in a beautiful shade of Blue. The next is a black coloured Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG SUV. The third car seen here in the video is a Jaguar XF lxuury sedan.
All three cars seen here in the video have 7777 as registration number. This means, the owners or the culprirts in this case had spent money on fancy registration numbers.
The report mentions that the investigation team was able to trace the Panamera and the Jaguar initially, the Mercedes-Benz was seized only recently. The Mercedes-Benz was abandoned at a secret place after the allegations against the accused came to light. The Special Crime Unit of the Commissionerate Police has seized the vehicles.
With the arrest of the accused, the investigation team has come to know about the involvement of several former ministers and politicians in this illegal act. Other than the politicians, it is said that a few builders are also involved in this fraudulent act.
The accused have been arrested and were remanded for a day for further questioning. After the remand period finished, both accused have been sent to judicial custody.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG seen here in the video is powered by a 3.0 litre V6, turbocharged engine that generates 435 Bhp and 520 Nm of torque. Price of a brand new GLE 53 AMG is around Rs 1.85 crore, ex-showroom. The Porsche Panamera seen here also costs around Rs 1.70 crore, ex-showroom. The Jaguar XF sedan belongs to an older generation and it is the least expensive vehicle in the lot.
