Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, MG Hector Worth Rs 1.8 Crore Seized: Here's Why

A number of criminals, with their ill-gotten money, buy luxury cars, and when they get caught, their cars get seized by the authorities. Recently, a video has gone viral on the internet, showing not one, not two, but four cars of a famous criminal named Sajju Kothari being seized by the police authorities. These cars included a Jaguar XF, a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, an MG Hector, and a Toyota Innova Crysta. In addition to these, the authorities have also sealed immovable properties worth Rs 4.21 crore.

Luxury Cars of Criminal Sajju Kothari Seized

The video showing the seizure of these luxury cars has been shared on Instagram by I Am Surat City News on their channel. In this video, a police officer explains that these vehicles were found parked in front of the building of the popular and notorious gangster Sajju Kothari, which was being sealed. He explained that this man, who has over 50 cases against him, has been caught by the authorities multiple times.

Following this, he mentions that during the sealing of his property, these cars, including a white Jaguar XF sedan, a white Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, a red MG Hector, and a white Toyota Innova Crysta, were parked in front of his building and were collecting dust. Upon further investigation, it was found by the police authorities that Kothari was regularly seen by his neighbors in these vehicles.

However, none of these vehicles are registered under the name of the criminal. The police officer elaborated that one of the cars is registered in Rajkot, another one is registered in Haryana, and the others are registered in different places in Gujarat. In addition to this, the officer added that they have summoned the real owners of these cars to investigate why these cars were left on the spot and what their connection with Sajju Kothari is.

The Jaguar XF, which has been seized, is worth around Rs 50 lakh, and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is worth around Rs 70 lakh. The MG Hector and Toyota Innova Crysta are around Rs 20 lakh each. As for their condition, it can be noted that all of them have been collecting dust, and the air suspension of the Mercedes has completely failed.

Sajju Kothari and His Criminal Background

The full name of the notorious gangster Sajju Kothari is Sajid Gulam Mohammad Kothari. He has over 50 cases against him and has a long history of organized crime in Gujarat. His offenses range from extortion, murder, kidnapping, and robbery, among many others.

Back in 2022, he was caught hiding inside a concealed bunker in his residence in Surat’s Nanpura area. Over 40 police officers participated in the operation to capture Sajju Kothari. Following this arrest, he was charged under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organized Crime (GUJCTOC) Act.

However, despite this, he was granted bail by the Supreme Court of India last month. Also, back in March 2024, the Enforcement Directorate provisionally attached Kothari's 31 immovable properties, which totaled up to Rs 4.21 crore.

Currently, the Gujarat police authorities are taking action against Kothari's local operations, and recently, one of his unauthorized structures was demolished by the Surat Municipal Corporation.
