The Premier 118 NE is an iconic Indian sedan which has helped in the shaping of the Indian automotive market which we see today. This sedan, back in the day, came with a 1.2-liter Nissan-sourced engine, and like all old cars, it was just meant to take the vehicle from point A to point B. Recently, however, we came across a video in which a Premier 118 NE has been completely transformed into a 250 bhp track-slaying monster.
India's craziest Premier 118 NE
The video showing this extremely unique and mind-blowingly fast Premier 118 NE has been shared on YouTube by Race Concepts on their channel. It starts off with the owner of Race Concepts introducing this particular build done by his company. He then introduces the owner of India's craziest Premier 118 NE.
According to the owner of this vehicle, this particular car was his family's first car, which was bought by his father. Since then, it has been a part of the family. The owner highlighted that initially he only wanted to add a little bit of power to his family's 118 NE. However, it then spiralled into him spending a lot of money and time in making it the most unique and fastest Fiat 118 NE in the country.
Modifications done on this Premier 118 NE
Following the introduction, the host states that they have done a ton of modifications on this car. Starting off with the engine bay, he states that they have swapped the old Nissan-based 1.2-litre engine for a 1.6-litre G16B from a Suzuki Baleno. The engine was then made more robust and fully forged, with custom rods, pistons, and a reworked head added.
It also gets a Garrett turbo running on 7 PSI, producing 250 bhp at the crank. In terms of wheel horsepower, it makes 220 bhp, which is mind-boggling for a vehicle like the 118 NE. Additionally, the sedan has been given a 5-speed from a Gypsy King, mated with a bespoke flywheel and Stage 4 clutch.
Other notable highlights include a large radiator with ECU-controlled fans and a stealth front-mount intercooler, which does not alter the original fascia. Race Concepts has also added double wishbone suspension with custom coilovers, fully custom subframe, firewall, and upright knuckles.
To improve the handling, it also gets an electronic power steering, revised geometry, and 260 mm brakes for high-speed stability. This 118 NE also gets a custom differential loop, prop shaft, and custom mounts. It runs an open differential with custom crown-pinion gearing for short ratios as well.
Exterior and interior upgrades
On the outside, the main highlight of this 118 NE is the 16-inch Lenzo retro wheels with 205 section tyres. Other highlights include custom badging, bucket seats, and bespoke dash. The gear knob and console were 3D printed and tailored. This sedan looks very subtle from the outside, as the owner has not opted for an outlandish widebody kit.
This Premier 118 NE can do a sprint of 0–100 kmph in just 7 seconds. When compared to the original model’s 25 seconds, the new car is lightning fast.
