Man Builds Dedicated Room For Mahindra Scorpio Classic In The 1st Floor Of His House [Video]
Punjab is an important market for Mahindra. Models like the Scorpio and Thar have stellar reputations there. People often see them as symbols of power and social status. Recently, a Punjabi man built a dedicated room for his beloved Mahindra Scorpio Classic, in his house. A video of this has now been shared on Instagram.
The video shows a quick tour of the SUV's custom-built parking space. The vehicle here, seems to be the Scorpio Classic, which was first launched in India in 2022. It is finished in White and has Mahindra's 'Twin peaks' logo on it.
At the beginning of the video, we get to see the building's exterior. It is quite large and tall. The SUV's 'dedicated parking' has been built on the first floor. It has huge glass panes that allow the onlookers to have a clear view of the vehicle when it is parked inside.
Later, we get to see the Scorpio Classic's parking in detail. As we move into the space, we see a pair of windows on the right side of the screen. These have fairly large glass panes. To the left side of the screen, we see a large passage that probably opens to a spacious living area or leads to a giant car lift. A pair of small doors can also be seen, which open to various balconies. The room also has a few spotlights pointing at the vehicle.

The video gathered mixed reactions from netizens. Many appreciated the owner for choosing to keep the Scorpio Classic inside his house. Some of them pointed out that the setup shown in the video would lead to Carbon Monoxide getting accumulated inside when the SUV's engine is running.
Another user wondered why the owner chose to build a parking space for the SUV inside his home when he had ample room outside to build a garage. Some users pointed out that the vehicle in the video had an 'MP' registration plate and the owner was probably from Madhya Pradesh and not Punjab. We now lack clarity on the actual owner details.
More About The Scorpio Classic
Mahindra launched the Scorpio-N in India in June 2022. It was a more mature, better-kitted and evolved form of the Scorpio that we had known for decades. The Classic is, in fact, a rebranded version of the Scorpio that was on sale before, underpinned by the same second-generation platform. At launch, it had a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh and sat under the Scorpio-N in Mahindra's portfolio.
The Scorpio Classic comes just with a diesel engine. The second-generation 2.2-litre mHawk engine produces 132 hp and 300 Nm on the Classic. It comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission alone, and misses out on the torque converter automatic that the Scorpio-N has. Mahindra claims the new engine to be 55 odd kilos lighter than before, and that the same would boost the fuel efficiency by up to 14 percent.
On design grounds, the Scorpio Classic stands close to the SUV that was on sale previously. It has the same rugged design and old-school styling. The slightly reworked front grille, Twin-Peaks logo, refreshed bumpers, tweaked tail lamps, updated fog lamp housing and better-looking side cladding are the only changes.
Most of the design and layout inside remain the same as before. The Classic, however, sees the addition of features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone mirroring, cruise control, rear parking sensors, leatherette wrap for the steering wheel, and more. The vehicle offers three seating layout choices- two 7-seaters and one 9-seater.
