Rahul Dravid’s Hyundai Creta Gets Hit By Goods Auto In Bengaluru: ‘The Wall’ Responds Calmly (Video)

When we think of some of the most legendary cricketers that have blessed the Indian cricket team, the name of Rahul Dravid comes near the very top of the list. Apart from his skills on the ground, he is also known for his super humble nature. Recently, Rahul Dravid was spotted in Bengaluru driving his Hyundai Creta. Unfortunately, his vehicle was crashed into by an auto rickshaw driver, and he was seen having a small argument with the auto driver. Thankfully, the issue was resolved quickly without the involvement of police authorities.
The video showing Rahul Dravid checking his Hyundai Creta after an accident with an auto rickshaw has been shared on X by Spandan Kaniyar on their page. In this short video, we can note that Rahul Dravid was standing on the footpath right next to his Hyundai Creta. He can be seen having an argument with an auto rickshaw driver who hit his vehicle from behind.
Both of them were speaking in Kannada, and the conversation was mostly civil, with just a hint of aggression from both. Rahul Dravid can be heard saying, “Why didn’t you brake on time?” To this, the auto rickshaw driver replied, “Sir, you braked very hard, and my vehicle could not stop so quickly.”
As per sources, this incident took place around 6:30 PM when Rahul Dravid was going towards High Ground from the Indian Express Circle. He was driving during rush hour traffic when this minor accident took place on Cunningham Road in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It was reported that the light goods auto came and crashed into the rear of Rahul Dravid’s car.
It has been reported that this minor accident was not reported by Rahul Dravid or the auto driver to the police authorities. They both had a small conversation, and the matter was quickly resolved. A police officer stated, “It might have been resolved on-site, like most other non-fatal small crashes. We haven’t received any complaints.”
The major fault in this incident was that of the auto driver. Generally, when someone is following another vehicle on the road, it is the responsibility of the driver in the following vehicle to maintain an adequate distance to avoid any collision due to sudden braking. In this particular incident, the auto driver was following Rahul Dravid, so he should have maintained a proper distance to account for emergency braking. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this incident.
A lot of netizens have been praising Rahul Dravid for his humble nature. They stated that it is very surprising that the man who led the Indian cricket team to win the T-20 World Cup drives a humble Hyundai Creta, that too from the first generation. Also, another netizen mentioned that he has seen Rahul Dravid driving a Hyundai Tucson on many occasions as well.
Meanwhile, another netizen stated, “It simply means democracy is alive in Karnataka, where a simple auto person has the courage to argue with a VIP. Otherwise, in any other lawless states like UP, the auto person would have been booked by authorities for even speaking loudly with a VIP. Great Bengaluru.”
Also, another netizen added, “This is the reality of auto drivers, temp and water tanker drivers in Bengaluru. They don’t care at all and always get into arguments with the other side. Even they demand money sometimes. Pathetic condition, and none in authority care. Even the other day, you get to see these incidents.”
