Ratan Tata Arriving At Taj Mahal Hotel In Nano Without Security Guards: Video Going Viral

Most of us woke up to the sad news of Mr. Ratan Tata’s demise today. A few days ago, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, and his health condition worsened. On the 9th of October, he passed away. He was one of those industrialists who didn’t have any haters and had a huge fan base. He was a good human being, popular among his friends and followers for his good deeds. He was also the person behind the passenger vehicle division of Tata Motors. He used to drive several Tata cars and was spotted on Mumbai roads often.
A video has been circulating on the internet after the sad news of Mr. Tata’s demise surfaced online, showing him arriving at the Taj Mahal Hotel in a Nano without any security guards. The video was shared by Viral Bhayani on their Instagram page. It is an old video, recorded after Ratan Tata received a custom-built Tata Nano as a gift from Electra EV, a leading company in electric vehicle powertrain solutions. In this video, Mr. Ratan Tata is seen sitting in the co-passenger seat of the Nano while his manager, Shantanu Naidu, is in the driver’s seat.
They both were visiting the Taj Hotel in Mumbai and were returning from the hotel in the Nano. We have often seen billionaire businessmen and celebrities travel with a large security detail, but Ratan Tata was different.
He used to travel on his own, and in this video, we don’t see him with any security guards. He was accompanied only by the hotel staff, and once he got into the car, they drove away.
This video is yet another proof of how humble Mr. Tata was and the simple life he led. Coming back to the Tata Nano EV, it looks just like the regular Nano from the outside, but Electra EV has completely replaced the engine and other components to make it an electric vehicle. The Electra EV uses a 72V architecture for the custom-built Nano EV. The Tata Nano EV is expected to have a driving range of 160 km and can go from 0 to 60 km/h in just under 10 seconds.
This is not the only Tata car that Mr. Ratan Tata owned. He also owned a Tata Indigo Marina, which he bought just so he could take his dogs on long drives. It was a station wagon, which sadly never succeeded in India.
Similarly, Mr. Tata also owned a Tata Nexon along with several other expensive and exotic cars. He had a soft spot for convertibles and had imported many into India.
Mr. Ratan Tata’s mortal remains were brought out of the hospital in an ambulance with a police escort. His body is being taken to his residence in Colaba. His mortal remains will be kept at the NCPA from 10 am to 3:30 pm today.
People can pay their respects during this time. Around 4 pm, the body will be taken to the crematorium in Worli for the last rites. The Maharashtra government has declared a day of mourning in the state today.
