Speeding Maruti Ertiga Driver Crashes Into Superbike On Highway: Blames Biker For Slowing Down [Video]
Rash driving is a common sight on Indian roads. It is not something that one should boast about, but sadly, that is the truth. On a daily basis, we come across videos and reports of accidents due to reckless driving from different parts of the country. In such accidents, innocent road users often have to pay the price, and here we have one such video. Here, a Maruti Ertiga cab, rashly driven on a highway, rear-ends a Benelli sports bike that had slowed down at a speed breaker.
The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. It was sent to him by one of his followers. The accident happened in Maharashtra and was recorded by the dashcam of a car passing through the same road. In the video, we see a Benelli TNT 600i naked sports bike on the highway. The bike was in the left lane, and the rider slowly overtook the dashcam car.
The rider was on his way to a workshop for some work on his bike. He was riding towards Nashik when this accident happened. He spotted a junction ahead and started slowing down. It should be noted that the rider was not going too fast on the highway and was well within the speed limits. He slowly applied the brakes and started riding over the speed breaker.
The dashcam car was behind the bike, and just after the bike hit the speed breaker, we see a speeding Maruti Ertiga coming from the left lane. The biker was completely unaware of this and was continuing at the same pace.
The Ertiga driver was coming at high speed and was probably not expecting the biker to slow down. By the time the cab driver spotted the speed breaker and the bike, it was too late. The cab driver did apply the brakes, but it was of no use.
The cab crashed into the bike from the rear, and the rear wheel of the bike got caught in the bumper of the car. The front of the cab went airborne for a few seconds before landing on the road again. The biker, taken by surprise, lost balance and fell onto the road. The bike suffered damages, and the rider escaped with minor injuries.
After the crash, locals gathered around, and luckily, the dashcam car also stopped. The cab driver started blaming the rider, claiming that he was riding the sports bike recklessly and that the accident happened because he applied the brakes suddenly.
The biker explained that there was proof proving his innocence and that the cab driver was at fault. He stated that the bike had suffered damages worth Rs 40,000. The cab driver began speaking to the rider rudely, and the locals even started blaming the biker, as they all believed the cab driver’s "superbike" narrative.
When the biker realized that things were getting worse, he contacted the police, who arrived at the spot in no time. A complaint was registered, but sadly, the cab driver did not pay him any compensation.
Cab Driver’s Fault
It is clearly the cab driver’s fault that this accident happened. The cab driver was either unaware of the speed breaker or was not paying attention to the road when the accident occurred. The rider was lucky that the entire incident was captured by the dashcam of the other car, as the police and locals might not have believed his story otherwise. The rider was also wearing proper riding gear, which saved him from serious injuries. The video highlights the importance of wearing a helmet and other protective gear while riding a two-wheeler.
