Reckless Biker Crashes Into Multi-Crore Bentley [Video]
Overconfidence and aggressive driver behaviour can often cause messy crashes and may even lead to the loss of lives. In some cases, the damages caused can be too expensive to mend. A recent incident from Kohlapur shows such a case.
Caught on Camera: Overconfidence Leads to Expensive Crash
This story stems from a video shared on the YouTube channel Prateek Singh. It shows how an aggressive motorcycle rider and his overconfidence ended up damaging a multi-crore Bentley! This crash is from Jaising Road, Kohlapur. As you can see, it is a small, single-lane road passing through what looks like a village. Vehicles can be seen moving in both directions, in long lines. The traffic density isn't low and it looks almost impossible for anyone to overtake a vehicle.
We get to see a small truck moving at a decent pace. A White Maruti Swift soon tries to overtake it. The driver is overconfident and almost reaches halfway when he sees oncoming traffic and slows down. Just now, a motorcycle rider gets aggressive and tries to squeeze in, and overtake the Swift (and the truck) before the oncoming vehicle (which we soon find out to be a White Bentley) arrives.
His judgement fails and the motorcycle runs into the Bentley. In the blink of an eye, the Swift also rubs against the multi-crore luxury car! All these happen despite the Bentley (which was being driven responsibly, keeping all lane rules) trying its best to fling to the left side of the road. Clearly, it was no fault of the Bentley!
The impact seems to have damaged the Bentley's paint and made dents on its bodywork. The front bumper seems to have come off as well. The crash threw the motorcycle rider off his bike. He seems to have a fracture on his leg, along with several visible injuries. Making the situation worse, he wasn't wearing a helmet either. It is lucky that he did not suffer major head injuries. In cases such as this, head injuries can prove to be fatal.
We are not sure about the exact damages caused to the Swift. It seems to have taken hit at the front right portion, which is not visible in the recording.
Immediately after the accident, security personnel got out of the Bentley and started having an argument with the driver of the Swift. Later in the video, we see a convoy of luxury and sports cars. A Range Rover, BMW 6 series convertible, Lexus, and a BMW X7 can be seen. These reportedly carried security personnel as well.
The video concludes by saying that what happened afterwards remains unknown...
And The Blame Goes To...
In this case, the overconfidence of the Swift should be cited as the primary cause. He knew that the road was small and that there was a lot of traffic around. It should have been poor judgement and extreme overconfidence that made him attempt the overtaking. This should have triggered the motorcyclist who then attempted a more extreme overtaking.
This crash is a classic example of how senseless aggressors on our roads can make us pay for repairs for no fault of our own. The Bentley in this case, could cost its owner a fortune, getting back in shape.
More Accidents Caused By Careless Overtaking
In another case, a speeding Honda City ended up on the median after it was hit by a bus which it was trying to overtake. The car was reportedly doing three digit speeds when the crash occurred. Hit by the impact, the car spun and crashed into the median. Due to the impact, the wheels went airborne! The occupants, thought injured, were safe.
