20-Year-Old Maruti Esteem Restored To Brand-New Condition [Video]

Generally, when a vehicle becomes very old, people tend to sell it, and it then gets scrapped. However, there are many people who have an extremely deep love for their old cars and cannot let them go. So, in order to keep these vehicles around, they opt to completely restore them. Recently, we came across one such project online. This particular restoration project is of a 2005 Maruti Suzuki Esteem sedan, which has now been painted in BMW’s Dravit Grey color and has been given a completely new interior.
This video of the complete restoration of a 20-year-old Maruti Suzuki Esteem has been shared on YouTube by Filmshoppee Car Facelift Studio on their channel. It starts off with the owner of the shop introducing this old Maruti Suzuki sedan. He mentions that the owner of this Esteem wants to get it completely restored and modified. The shop owner then gives a walkaround of the condition of this vehicle.
He states that the entire exterior of this vehicle is rusted, and every body panel has dents on it. After the exterior, he shows the interior of this car, which is in an equally bad state. Following the introduction, the video then shows the entire process of how this extremely old and dilapidated Maruti Suzuki Esteem was converted into a brand-new vehicle.
The video first shows the technicians of the shop completely stripping down this sedan. For this, they first remove the bonnet, fenders, doors, and all the exterior and interior trims. This then exposes more rusted panels, and it can be noted that almost every panel on the inside was also rusted. This included the entire floor pan of this vehicle.
Following this, the technicians can be seen cutting off all the visible rust. After this, all the parts were changed, and they were properly welded to the body of the car. These newly added metal panels were then given an anti-rust coating, and finally, the vehicle was taken to the body workshop.
In this section, all of the body panels were checked for dents, which were removed using professional dent pullers. The vehicle was then given a coat of glazing putty, which was sanded down to be as smooth as possible. Finally, the entire vehicle was painted in a grey primer to ensure that all the body panels were sealed and no more rust would form on this vehicle.
After this, the vehicle was taken into the paint booth. The owner of the shop mentions that the owner has finalized the sporty shade of Dravit Grey, which is a special color from the German luxury automotive giant BMW. The video then shows the painter painting the car in this color and also spraying on the final clear coat. After painting the vehicle, the shop added a set of custom silver alloy wheels.
Next, after finishing the exterior repaint, the car was taken to be fitted with a new custom interior. The shop owner highlights that they have custom-painted all the interior parts in black. They have also made new custom black-and-brown leather seat covers. Additionally, they added a new Sony music system and Pioneer speakers, along with a dedicated space for a subwoofer in the boot. Finally, after all the work was done, the vehicle was presented to its owner, who was very happy to see it.
