Road Rage: BJP Minister Suresh Gopi’s Son Has A Heated Argument With Congress Leader (Video)

Suresh Gopi is a well-known figure in Kerala. The actor-turned-politician is as famous for his work in various Malayalam films as he is for his successful political career. He is currently serving as the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas. His son Madhav Suresh is also an actor and is currently in the early phases of his career. He too has been creating headlines recently. We saw him adding a brand-new Volkswagen Golf GTI to his garage and flaunting it in style. At around the same time, his latest movie ‘JSK: Janaki V v/s State of Kerala’ was also released. Now, the minister’s son is in the news again, this time for a rather unpleasant reason! In what looks like an incident of road rage, Madhav was seen engaging in a heated argument with Congress leader Vinod Krishna, in Trivandrum.

This incident occurred on Thursday (August 21, 2025) around midnight, near Sasthamangalam. According to the Police, Vinod Krishna, a Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) member, attempted a U-turn in his Honda City, which blocked the way for Madhav, who was driving his Golf GTI. This sparked a verbal argument between the two, which later escalated manifold.

Multiple videos of the two engaging in heated exchanges were filmed by those around, mostly due to the popularity and background of Madhav. In one of these clips, Suresh Gopi’s son can be seen accusing the Congress leader of hitting the Golf GTI with his arm. This seems to have triggered him. The video also shows him avenging the same by slamming the City’s hood.

Vinod Krishna later told the media that the above action occurred after the actor chased his car and blocked its way. He also says that for some distance, the two vehicles drove parallel to each other, when Madhav shouted at him and initiated the verbal fight.

The KPCC member also says that the air soon got serious, and people gathered around them. Soon, the police were informed about the development. The City driver initially accused Madhav of being drunk at the time of the incident. The police then detained the actor temporarily.

He was put through the ‘breath analyser’ test, the results of which turned out to be negative. This freed him from the accusation of being under the influence of alcohol. In his counterargument, Madhav reportedly accused Vinod of driving while talking on the phone, when the incident occurred.

He was however, taken into custody for further procedures and medical examination. Some reports also mention that the actor initially refused to get into the cop car.

Madhav was released after both parties refused to sue each other or pursue the matter. His relatives reportedly reached the station, soon after they got to know about the incident.

It Didn’t End There!

In the hours that followed, the news went viral on major content platforms and on social media. Many reached out to Madhav for a response. He, however, turned these down and chose to speak out through his official Instagram handle. A story that he shared read:

‘ No complaints against Vinod Krishna Sir, as we both understood what we did wrong to each other and he also knows how he initiated the situation.

Like a bad apple among a bunch, our wonderful police force has some bad apples too, and one of them, inspite of Vinod Sir not having a complaint, wanted to make sure cameras captured me getting into a police jeep.

The crowd over there also knew exactly what happened there. I mean, nobody really cares about the truth do they...’

Some of the latest video reports of this incident also mentions that Suresh Gopi is highly unhappy with what happened to his son, and is set to lodge a complaint against the policemen involved, for unnecessarily forcing his son to be in the station, even though for a short span of time.

If the minister moves forward with such a suit, things could get extremely complicated. Suresh Gopi is a BJP minister, and the opposite party here, is Congress. The two have long been having feuds with each other in the state. A lawsuit from the minister can lead to severe political turbulence as well.
