British car manufacturer Rolls-Royce launched their first-ever electric vehicle, the Spectre, in the Indian market last year. It is not just available in India but in other international markets too. While we have seen several videos and images of rich Indian businessmen and celebrities buying the Rolls-Royce Spectre, we now have a different video coming all the way from Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this video, we see a brand-new Rolls-Royce Spectre EV that got totalled in a major accident.

The videos have been circulating on various social media platforms since yesterday. The accident happened on Purbachal Expressway in Dhaka on Saturday, July 19. This is probably the first-ever recorded major crash of the Rolls-Royce Spectre since it was launched. As per reports available online, the Rolls-Royce Spectre was being driven at high speed on the expressway when the driver lost control and crashed into the median on the highway.

The car was owned by Abdur Sabur, chairman of the Masko Group. He, along with his son and two other occupants, was in the car at the time of the crash. The reports mention that the car veered off course and crashed into a concrete island on the road. In the images and videos circulating online, we can clearly see that the Rolls-Royce Spectre was brand new as it didn’t even have a proper registration plate.

It had a sticker reading "AFR - Applied For Registration" printed on a piece of paper. The exact details of the speed at which the accident occurred are not known. However, looking at the condition of the vehicle, it is pretty clear that the car was easily doing triple-digit speeds and was way above the speed limit of the road.

From the videos circulating online, it looks like the car toppled after hitting the concrete section in the center of the road. The front of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is completely damaged, and there is damage to the door, windshield, rear fender, and bumper.

In the video, we see locals and security officials gathered around the vehicle. They pushed the car and brought it back onto all four wheels. The roof of the Spectre EV is also damaged in the crash. The reports claim that the vehicle is totalled. A brand-new Rolls-Royce Spectre costs around 15 crore Bangladeshi Taka.

Abdur Sabur’s son sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. All other occupants suffered only minor injuries. Even after a serious crash like this, the shell of the luxury EV looks intact, and the airbags were deployed on time. The car was towed from the accident spot by local police and is currently at Rupganj Police Station for further investigation.

The Spectre is Rolls-Royce’s first-ever EV and is powered by a 102 kWh battery pack that generates 593 PS and 900 Nm of peak torque. It offers a claimed range of 520 km and can do 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

In India, there are several billionaire businessmen and celebrities who own a Rolls Royce Spectre. The recent one was bought by businessman and super car enthusiast Parveen Agarwal from Kolkata.
