Mahindra Thar ROXX RWD Is Purely Meant To Be Driven On The Road: Here's Why! [Video]

The craze or demand for SUVs among customers is on the rise lately. While most of them buy SUVs, they are not truly SUVs. Most of the cars are crossovers that are designed for urban driving conditions. Most of them are front-wheel or rear-wheel drive cars, and these are never meant to be taken off-road. However, people don’t realise this and often consider the higher ground clearance of their vehicle as an advantage for such tricks. This often lands them in trouble. Here we have one such video where a Mahindra Thar Roxx RWD got stuck in sticky mud. The SUV was stuck so badly that it had to be rescued by a tractor.
The video has been shared by Lyju Elias on his Instagram page. It looks like the Mahindra Thar Roxx driver and his friends were exploring an area very close to a lake when they found themselves in trouble.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with both petrol and diesel engine options, and only the diesel variants come with 4x4 available as an option in some variants. The SUV seen here in this video is not the 4x4 version. It is the regular RWD version, and this is not a suitable car to go off-roading.
We are assuming that the driver of the car drove the SUV too close to the lake without realising that the mud was too wet and sticky. Before he realised what was happening, all four wheels started sinking in the mud.
The Thar Roxx is a heavy SUV, and that was not helping in this case either. Luckily, there were locals and probably occupants from the car who helped the driver in this case. We can clearly see that the rear wheels did not have any traction, and they were simply spinning in one spot. People started pushing the car, and it made a difference.
They managed to push the car out of the pit that it had formed, but the car was not out of danger completely. He was, in fact, stuck at a very tricky spot. If he drove the car forward, he was going to get stuck in the mud again, and then people would have to help him again. The surface was so slippery that it felt like steering was making no difference.
Finally, a tractor came to the spot and pulled the Thar Roxx RWD out. There were multiple things that went wrong in this case. The first one is the fact that it is a RWD vehicle. Next is the tyres. It was running on stock tyres, and they are only suitable for mild off-roading.
If you want to drive an SUV through mud, it is always a good idea to opt for off-road spec tyres. Above all, the experience also matters. If you don’t have the right set of skills to drive on such tricky surfaces, even a capable 4x4 is of no use to you.
The lesson to be learned from this video is that the Mahindra Thar Roxx is a good SUV for the roads. If you want to drive off-road, there is always the 4x4 option available in the market.
