Bollywood Actor Salman Khan Spotted In His Bulletproof Mercedes Maybach GLS600 SUV
Bollywood celebrities and expensive cars are something that go hand in hand. It has become a part of their lifestyle, and for the same reason, they keep updating these vehicles. Some actors even travel in bulletproof vehicles due to security reasons. Popular actor Salman Khan was recently seen travelling in a Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 luxury SUV worth crores. The social media post claims that this luxury SUV used by the actor is bulletproof.
The images have been shared by Car Crazy India on their Instagram page. The image posted on social media shows a Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 SUV with Salman Khan sitting in the front co-driver seat. The post claims that this is his new Mercedes-Benz GLS600 SUV, but in the second image, we get a closer view of the windshield which shows the registration sticker with the year 2024.
The post also mentions that the Maybach seen here is actually bulletproof. We are not sure if this is actually the case with this vehicle. We see the actor sitting in the front row, and the cabin lights were probably on. Salman Khan has many other bulletproof vehicles in his garage, and the reason why we feel the GLS600 isn’t one is because the front windshield glass looks too thin, and the black sticker usually seen around the ORVM also looks thin on this SUV.
Salman Khan has been spotted with this car on several occasions. The GLS600 is a feature-rich luxury SUV with features like lounge-style seating, a panoramic sunroof, a rear-seat entertainment package, a compact refrigerator, a Burmester audio system, a virtual assistant, and many more.
The GLS600 is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine, accompanied by a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine delivers a peak power output of 557 PS and 730 Nm of torque. The hybrid system can provide an additional 22 PS and 250 Nm of torque on demand. A 9-speed automatic transmission channels the power to all four wheels. The price for a brand-new Maybach GLS600 starts at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 3.70 crore (ex-showroom).
Salman Kahn’s Bulletproof Cars
As mentioned above, Salman Khan has a bunch of cars—mostly SUVs—that are bulletproof. The first one is a Toyota LC200. This was one of the first vehicles to get the bulletproof treatment. He used the SUV extensively before upgrading to a brand-new Nissan Patrol SUV.
As the Patrol is not officially on sale in India, Salman got it imported, and just like the LC200, the Patrol is also armoured or bulletproof. The SUV is currently India’s only bulletproof Patrol. He is said to have not one, but two Nissan Patrols in his garage.
The Patrol is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 405 hp and 560 Nm of torque. The SUV’s massive engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and it comes with a four-wheel drive system as standard.
The next bulletproof SUV in his garage is the Range Rover. The current-generation Range Rover became popular among celebs almost immediately, and Salman Khan also bought one for himself. He bought the Autobiography variant of the luxury SUV, and this SUV is also bulletproof. The actor has been spotted travelling in this SUV on several occasions.
