Scammer Steals Smartphone From Car By Distracting Woman Driver [Video]

The scams on Indian roads are getting out of hand. Each and every day, we are seeing new scams taking place with innocent people. Most recently, two videos have been shared online in which two scammers tried scamming two different car drivers. Unfortunately, one of these drivers was not vigilant enough and lost her mobile phone during the stoppage by these scammers. Both of these incidents were captured by the dashcams installed in the respective cars.
This video of a scammer stealing the phone of a woman driver on the road has been shared on YouTube by Prateek Singh on their channel. It starts off with the creator mentioning that this particular dashcam footage has been shared from Rajasthan, following which he shows and then explains what actually happened and how this innocent car driver lost her smartphone.
In this short clip, a woman driver can be seen driving her car through a busy city road in Rajasthan. What happens next is that she reaches a traffic signal where she stops her car. Soon after this, we can note that a person walking by her car notices that her smartphone is on the front passenger seat.
To steal this smartphone, he knocks on the window of the car. After hearing this knock, the woman gets confused and opens the window. During this, the man bows down and pretends to claim that she drove her car over his foot. However, as seen in the video, this was not the case.
At the same time, another person accompanying this first thief taps on the window of the driver’s side where the woman is sitting. Unfortunately, when she turns around to check who is knocking at her window, her phone is stolen by the other person on the front passenger side.
The biggest mistake that this woman driver made was opening the window of her vehicle. In such scenarios, when unknown people are knocking on the window, the driver or passenger inside the vehicle should not open it. In this particular scenario, the woman should not have fully opened the left window.
Apart from the first scam, the same video shows another attempted scam. What happened in this scam, shared from Karnataka, is that a couple was driving through a busy city road. It can be noted that the car was being driven at a very normal speed. However, what happens is that a person who randomly comes from the left side deliberately gets in front of the car and then falls.
He does this to stop the driver of the car in order to extort money. It can also be noted in the dashcam footage that two men on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle on the left side stop the car and confront the couple inside. However, the driver immediately mentions that he has a dashcam and can show the footage. After saying this, he drives off.
Now, had the driver stopped the car or not had a dashcam installed in his car, these goons would have extorted a lot of money from them by applying pressure. This is why it is recommended to have a dashcam in your vehicle, and in case of any such incident, never stop the vehicle. People nowadays get into fights on the road over small reasons, and sometimes this can lead to dangerous road rage incidents.
