Singer And Car Collector Buys India’s Whitest Mahindra Thar ROXX
Buying a new car is a big decision for most people in India, but for singer B. Murali Krishna, it seems like just another routine affair! He is an Indian Carnatic vocalist, musician, multi-instrumentalist, playback singer, composer, and character actor. The musician is also known for his passion for cars. He has been aggressively expanding his garage lately. He has now bought a new Mahindra Thar ROXX which could be the Whitest ROXX in India.
The Mahindra Thar ROXX already has a shade of White on its official colour palette. It is called the Everest White. The singer’s ROXX, however, is finished in a different shade of White and every part of it now wears it. Unlike the stock Thar ROXX which has a tasteful dual-tone colourway, this SUV seems as if someone dipped it in a tub of White paint. You see White on the grille, indicator housings, bumpers, claddings, wheel arches, ORVMs, roof and even the door handles. Not sure if this colourway would grow on us, but for now it looks bizarre!
Mahindra offers two engine options on the Thar ROXX- 2.2L mHawk diesel and 2.0 mStallion turbocharged petrol. Automatic and manual gearboxes are available as well. We don’t know which of these has found a place in the singer’s multi-crore garage.
The vehicle has the Ivory colourway and isn’t likely a top-spec as pictures suggest it to have a single-pane sunroof instead of a full-size panoramic sunroof. These are, however, mere assumptions based on available pictures.

The singer’s Instagram feed is flooded with posts about his new acquisitions. On January 4, he announced the purchase of an Audi Q8 finished in Matador Red. This SUV is powered by a 3.0L V6 petrol engine that generates 335bhp and 500 Nm. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and there is even AWD offered. A brand new Q8 has an ex-showroom price of 1.17 crores.
On the very next day, another post popped up saying that the singer bought a Porsche Boxster 718! This looks like a pre-owned car. The Boxster 718 used to cost 1.4 Crore rupees (ex-showroom) back in its day. The singer’s car wears a Yellow paint and had a 2.0L petrol engine that could produce 295 hp and 380 Nm. This mid-engined Porsche was fast and exciting.
The shopping spree did not end there. On January 6th, Murali added a Mini Countryman to his garage. More recently, he even posted pictures of a Range Rover with the caption ‘ Happy to have acquired this Range Rover Vogue today’. With a price tag of over 2 Crores, the Vogue is a popular choice among public figures and celebs. It offers the choice of petrol and diesel engine options. We don’t know which of these was acquired by the singer.
Netizens are (mostly) excited by the musician’s multi-crore shopping spree. Many are in awe of his collection. Discussions on his next possible purchase are also live. Some fans even wonder what suddenly triggered the car shopping streak, and as it turns out, they can’t be blamed!
