The demand for SUVs in India does not seem to taper off. For this reason, a number of automakers are now offering a range of SUVs in their portfolio. Of these carmakers, one is the Czech automaker Skoda. The company has recently revealed its plan to offer a new seven-seater variant of its upcoming new-generation Kushaq mid-size SUV. Presently, the Skoda Kushaq is only offered as a five-seater SUV; however, this new model will help it capture a bigger market share in India.

Now, to show how this upcoming seven-seater version of the Skoda Kushaq could look, a rendering of this SUV has been shared on YouTube by SRK Designs. In this short video, the talented digital artist can be seen showing the behind-the-scenes process.

It starts with the creator taking the side profile image of the current-generation Skoda Kushaq, after which he copies the rear end and extends it. The artist then blends in all the body lines and body gaps and makes them look as perfect as possible.

We can note that after tweaking a ton of details in the rear for a while, the artist also changes a few elements on the front of the vehicle. He finally changes the color to a bright green and also adds important details like a shadow and changes the background before presenting the final result.

Skoda Kushaq seven-seater: Details

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Petr Janeba, brand director for Skoda Auto India, mentioned that the brand is indeed working on the development of the seven-seater Kushaq. He stated that this new model will be based on the brand-new Skoda Kushaq, which will be launched in India around 2027.

The upcoming Skoda Kushaq will ditch the current MQB A0 IN platform, which also underpins the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun, and Virtus. Reportedly, the new platform will be called MQB A0 37, which will be much wider and longer than the current MQB A0 IN platform.

With the use of this platform, the brand will also launch the new Kushaq seven-seater variant. It will boast a longer wheelbase and will also accommodate a third row of seats for added practicality. Most likely, the Skoda Kushaq seven-seater will make its official debut around 2027–28.

At the moment, details about its exact design or powertrain have not been shared online. However, most likely, it will continue to boast the brand’s “Modern Solid” design language. Also, there are reports that suggest existing TSI engines will be updated. Skoda could also offer a strong hybrid powertrain.

Skoda Kushaq facelift: Coming next year

Skoda is currently working on the development of the Kushaq facelift, which will be based on the current-generation model’s MQB A0 IN platform. It will boast a brand-new front bumper, new LED headlights, and a new rear bumper along with new LED taillights.

Apart from these, the main updates will be on the inside. It will get a panoramic sunroof and ADAS Level 2 features, which the current-generation model misses out on. Skoda will not be changing the powertrain options and will continue to offer the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines.

Most likely, the new Skoda facelift will be launched by January of next year. As for the pricing, expect to see a price bump over the current-generation model. Presently, the Skoda Kushaq starts at Rs 10.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.79 lakh.
