The love that people have for the first car or bike they buy with their hard-earned money is unparalleled. These first automobiles provide a sense of accomplishment that only a few other things in life can match. However, once these first vehicles are sold, a deep void is left in their hearts. Today, we have one such story of a man who sold his Maruti 800 many years ago, and the void left by this car was filled by the same car, which was found by his son after searching for many years.

Son Found and Bought Back Father’s Maruti 800

This particular story is about a man named Abdul Nazer, who works as a vehicle supervisor with the Kerala State Transport Corporation. It all started back in 1992 when Nazer bought his first-ever car, a 1985 Maruti 800. This particular hatchback stayed with Nazer’s family for 15 long years.

Nazer’s son, Niyas Ahammed, who was very young when this car came home, grew up with it. He even learned to drive a four-wheeler in their Maruti 800. However, back in 2007, the family decided that it was time to upgrade to a more modern car. For this reason, they sold the car to a buyer in Kozhikode for Rs 42,000.

Seller’s Remorse

Following the purchase of the new car, when the initial charm wore off, Nazer mentioned to his family that he missed his Maruti 800. He even admitted that he wanted the car back. However, despite trying to find the car very actively, Niyas was unable to track it down. Thankfully, the son still did not give up on the search for his father’s beloved hatchback.

Rather, he continued checking on its ownership history, and in 2012, he found out that it was, at the time, with a person from Kottayam. Unfortunately, Niyas and his father could not find out the exact details of the owner who had bought their cherished car. So the search for the car became subdued.

Finally Found It

Although the search was not as active, Niyas still kept checking up on the car’s history from time to time. At one point in 2019, he found out that their family’s Maruti 800 was purchased by a man named Umesh, who lived in Thiruvananthapuram. So, without wasting any more time, Niyas personally went to meet Umesh and revealed his plan to buy the car.

What happened next was that Umesh replied he was not planning to sell this particular car. However, even after hearing no for an answer, Niyas still did not give up hope. He told Umesh about the emotional value this particular Maruti 800 held for his father and the rest of the family, left his contact details with Umesh, and remained in touch with him.

Fast forward to 2020, Umesh, on a fine day, called up Niyas and said he could sell the vehicle back to them. However, the catch was that he would require Rs 1,00,000. Niyas agreed to this as quickly as he could and bought his father’s long-lost love. He then refurbished it and gifted it to his father on his 54th birthday, making it one of the most memorable ones.

Sachin Tendulkar Gifted a Maruti 800

The master blaster cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is known today for his magical batting skills and his love for luxury automobiles. However, his beginnings were very humble, and his first car was a Bayers Blue-colored Maruti 800. Unfortunately, this particular car was sold by him at one point.

Recently, he publicly shared, “My first car was an 800. Unfortunately, it is not with me right now. I would love to have it back again with me. So people listening to me, feel free to contact and get in touch…” Following this, the search for his car began.

However, after not being able to find it, Spinny, a used car platform of which Sachin is a brand ambassador and strategic partner, did something amazing. They managed to recreate the exact same Maruti 800 Sachin once owned and finally gifted it to him.
