We have hardly come across anyone who doesn’t love gifts. We have come across several instances where parents were gifted expensive cars and bikes by their son or daughters. We have seen several videos in the past where people have traced their first car or bike and restored it as many memories are attached to it. Here we have one such incident from Kerala where sons gifted father a Hindustan Ambassador which he used to drive around 50 years ago.

The video was shared by Manorama News on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see Mr. Achyuthan Nair from Thrissur district of Kerala. He is currently over 84 years old. He used to work as a driver. As part of his profession, he used to work for a doctor in 1970. The doctor owned a Hindustan Ambassador.

It was a time when Hindustan Ambassador were considered as a status symbol. Mr. Achyuthan drove the car for years and even his children learned how to drive in that car. Achyuthan even used that car for a few family functions and weddings. After some time, the doctor passed away and his family moved abroad.

By this time, Achyuthans sons Sujith and Ajith were adults and had started their own business. Sujith even thought of buying the Ambassador but, unfortunately he didn’t have the money to buy it at that time. The then owner of the car was asking around Rs 40,000 for the sedan.

Sujith and his brother later got busy with their work and slowly forgot about the car. It was only last year that Mr. Achyuthan started talking about the car again and that brought back memories. Both Sujith and Ajith started looking for the vehicle. After doing extensive research they managed to trace down the owner of the vehicle and spoke to him.

When the current owner came to know about the story behind this vehicle and sold it back to the sons. All this was happening without Mr. Achyuthans knowledge. The car was well maintained by its current owner and the only difference on the car was the new paint job.

The report also mentions that the engine on this car was swapped by one of the owners. The later owners of the car had changed the black color of the car into an aqua teal shade. We feel it was a good call to change the colour of the car as it is giving it a retro look. After buying the car, the sons realized that it was Father’s Day and they could easily offer it to their father as a gift on this special day.

They picked up the car from Mavelikkara and drove the car to Thrissur. They reached Thrissur before Father’s day. When Achyuthan Nair saw the car, he was extremely happy and emotional.

He was meeting his Ambassador sedan that he had driven 50 years ago. We see the happiness and content feeling on the face of Achyuthan Nair and that itself is a proof to show how attached he was to the car.
