Student Misses Exam After Cop Stops Her Auto Citing ‘VVIP Movement’ [Video]

VVIP culture in India is a big inconvenience for the general public. Politicians often travel in large convoys, which frequently creates issues for other people. We have seen several instances in the past where politicians, ministers, or other VVIPs have stopped traffic to ensure the smooth movement of their convoy. One such incident from Mumbai has surfaced online, where a student missed her exam after cops stopped her vehicle citing VVIP movement.
The video has been shared by Ghar Ke Kalesh on social media platform X. It was recorded by the student who missed her examination. The video starts with the student talking to a police officer. She can be heard requesting the officer to let her vehicle go as she was getting late for her exam.
However, the police officer, who was on the phone, refused her request. He told her that he had orders to block the traffic and would not let any vehicles pass until he received clearance. While the officer was simply following orders, it appears that he could have let her vehicle go. He instead told the student to leave the auto-rickshaw she was traveling in, walk to the other side, and find another vehicle.
This was not practical, as there were no autos on the road due to the traffic block. The student had no choice but to wait. She had to wait for almost 30 minutes before the VVIP convoy passed.
The exact location and date of this incident have not been verified, but it appears to be somewhere in Maharashtra. By the time the vehicles started moving, it was 10:30 AM, and the student can be heard saying that she had already missed her examination.
This is actually a serious issue in our country. In the past, we have seen many politicians and ministers stopping traffic for their convenience while traveling in convoys. While this is part of their security protocol, it causes significant inconvenience to the common man. There have even been cases where ambulances were forced to stop so that a minister or politician could pass.
These convoys are driven at high speeds, which is another reason why traffic is blocked. The chances of a security vehicle crashing into other vehicles are high. To prevent such accidents, traffic is brought to a stop for some time. However, this does not justify making common people suffer.
The comment section under this post is filled with reactions such as: “VIP culture, my foot! These guys are public servants, yet they tag themselves as VIPs. Pathetic situation in this country, and more so after 2014.” “This is why it is important to choose your leaders wisely. They want protocol no matter what! VIP culture should come to an end.”
Coming back to the incident, the police officer could have used discretion. This means he had the power to make decisions based on his judgment rather than strictly following orders. If the officer had allowed the student to pass, she would not have missed her exam and it would not have caused any inconvenience.
