Actor Sunny Deol Under Fire For Hitting 170+Kph In Brand-New Porsche 911 Turbo 50

Bollywood’s popular actor Ajay Singh Deol, better known as Sunny Deol, is often noted for his multi-crore car collection. Over the years, we have seen him own many interesting machines. One of his most recent purchases is a brand-new Land Rover Defender Octa. He bought it earlier this year and became the first Bollywood actor to do so. More recently, in September, we got our first look at Deol’s latest acquisition- a Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years edition. This limited edition 911 has an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.7 crores before options. Deol reportedly took both vehicles to Jaipur, where he joined the set of his new movie. Now, a video of Deol doing 170+ kph on his new 911 Turbo 50 has surfaced from Jaipur.
This video seems to have been recorded by the person seated in the front passenger seat. As it opens, we see the car speeding through what looks like the Jaipur-Delhi expressway. The actor seems to be heading to Delhi from the filming location in Jaipur. The Porsche is on the fast lane and doing three-digit speeds. As the video progresses, we get a quick glance at the speedometer.
The video here, in fact, is too blurry to deduce the speed accurately. However, judging by the position of the speedometer needle, it should be in the range of 170-180 kph, most likely near 175... Deol is enjoying the drive and keeps accelerating. He even says to the camera, ‘ I am going to Delhi’.
Exciting, isn’t it? Well, there’s one big flaw in this video. Doing 170+ kph on an open road is completely illegal. The video of a celebrity doing it going viral on social media only makes things worse! He is setting a bad example for many. They say, ‘with great power comes great responsibility’. For celebs and public figures, influence is the superpower.
People look up to their favourite stars and try to copy them, at least in some cases. Deol may have done 170+ kph in his brand-new 911 Turbo. People who copy the act, would do it in their Cretas and Fronxs (or whatever car you can name, which isn’t as dynamic as a 911!). As obvious as it gets, not everyone can afford a 911, but the urge to do these stunts is real!
This video isn’t live on the actor’s official handle at the time of writing this article. We aren’t sure if it was posted and later taken down due to public backlash. In places where it is still playing, we can see netizens criticising the actor for over-speeding. Many even mentioned the official handles of Delhi Traffic Police, to bring the violation to their notice.
Some comments also say that he isn’t wearing seatbelt at the time of filming. This, however, is just a misconception. His clothes are merely obscuring the belt. Look carefully and you will realise that it is fastened.
When it was launched in 2024, the 911 Turbo 50 had an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.05 Crores. Not, it has come down to 3.77 crores. The 911 Turbo 50 is a limited edition that celebrates 50 years of the 911 Turbo that originally debuted in 1974. Only 1,974 units of it will be made.
Key exterior highlights include special vinyl graphics, retro decals, and 'Turbo 50' badges. Deol has opted for the Aventurine Green shade. The 911 Turbo 50 will also come with Mackenzie tartan upholstery inside. It has 20-inch alloy wheels at the front and 21-inchers at the rear. The cabin also has 18-way electrically adjustable seats with memory functions.
The 911 Turbo 50 comes with a 3.7-litre, flat-six, twin-turbocharged petrol engine that makes 650bhp and 800Nm. It goes from 0-100 kph in just 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 330 kph.
