Social media is a major part of our lives, and we often see people trying their best to create viral content to go viral on the internet. Everyone is in a hurry to create viral content to become popular. Not everyone is successful in achieving this goal, and we have also come across people who have violated several rules just for the sake of likes and shares on social media.

Here we have one such video from Baralacha La Pass where SUV owners took their vehicles for off-roading and got stuck so badly that the Indian Army had to come for the rescue.

The video has been posted by Nikhil Saini on his profile. The person who posted this video is actually pointing out a mistake that many people make while visiting the mountains. In this video, we see people driving up to the top of Baralacha Pass. Many don’t realise that this is an eco-sensitive area and driving on such surfaces is actually not allowed. Many people don’t know about this, while there are others who do it anyway.

The video has been posted with the caption: “Some people will never learn. In an eco-sensitive zone, just to flaunt and make reels, they drive off-road and get stuck. Indian armed forces had to come for rescue but is this what they are meant for? Heavy fines and strict guidelines should be issued for such nonsense.”

In this video, we see people who have driven up the mountain in their 4x4 SUVs. There are cars like the Ford Endeavour and a Mahindra Scorpio N that are stuck on the top of the hill. The aim of most people who drove up the mountain was to get a view that no one else had captured and also to show off the off-roading capabilities of their vehicles and post a video of them doing the same on social media.

army rescues suvs

They probably had no idea about the terrain and how it behaves and were simply too confident or maybe overconfident about their 4x4s and decided to drive up until they got stuck. These vehicles were badly stuck, and while trying to recover the vehicles, the surroundings which are classified as eco-sensitive were getting damaged.

People who committed this act do not care about the consequences. Their vehicles were stuck so badly that the Indian Army had to be called for the rescue. They came with a recovery truck and winched the vehicles out. As mentioned above, this is a sensitive region, and tourists visiting the spot should be responsible. It is not clear if the SUV owners were imposed with heavy fines or if they were simply let go with a warning.

The comment section under this video is also filled with similar sentiments. Some of the comments are: “At least ₹1 lakh fine for high-end SUVs, even Thar and Scorpio, for driving in unsafe/undesignated zones. ₹10k for littering, with prizes for reporting.”

“Indian Army should not be on standby for fools ever again. Post warnings that you are self-responsible for your own safety and that of your vehicle. Eco zones are not meant for playing stunts. If people still persist, slap heavy fines to deter them in future, but never bring in the Army to help rescue vehicles used in stunts ever.”

So what are your thoughts on this behaviour. What action should be taken against such offenders in future. Do let us know in the comment section.
