No, This Is NOT A New Maruti Suzuki Swift Taxi

The image of the Suzuki Swift which you just saw on the thumbnail might make you think that it's a Swift taxi. However, we have to let you know that this particular Swift is actually not a taxi. Rather, it is a modified Swift which takes inspiration from its rugged off-roader sibling, the Jimny. The purpose of this Swift is to take on the harsh terrains which a normal Swift would not dare to tackle. And before we go any further, you have to note that you CANNOT buy this Swift as it's a one-off concept.
This particular Suzuki Swift has been named the Swift Allgrip FX, and it has been designed by Suzuki Netherlands. Unfortunately, this is not something that will be offered in India or even in the Netherlands or Europe, as it is a one-off off-roader concept. The FX in the name of this model stands for “Fun eXplorer.” Also, we would like to once again clarify that this is not a taxi.
First off, let's talk about the main highlights of this particular Swift Allgrip FX. This particular model is not based on the standard front-wheel-drive model which is sold in India and Australia. Rather, it is based on the Swift all-wheel-drive Allgrip variant which is sold in European markets. As can be noted from these images, this Swift gets a lift kit.
It is 32 mm higher than the standard model, but its 172 mm ground clearance is lower than the Jimny, which offers 210 mm. Apart from the lift kit, this Swift gets all-terrain tyres – 195/55 wrapped around a set of 16-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels. The standard model also gets 16-inch alloy wheels in Europe, but the tyres are 185/55.
Apart from these, other highlights of the Swift Allgrip FX include wheel arch claddings, black Suzuki badges (the rear gets a lettered Suzuki badge). Additionally, Suzuki Netherlands has added a roof rack from Thule, which specializes in making roof racks. It also gets a Tralert front LED light bar, rubber rear bumper protector, and Allgrip decals on the body.
As for the interior upgrades, this particular Swift Allgrip FX gets a fully black interior which includes black leather seats. They also get Allgrip embossing, and they get rubber floor mats as well. Additionally, this concept vehicle has also been given a domestic cooler and a storage box.
In terms of the powertrain, Suzuki Netherlands has not tinkered with the standard model. This means it still gets the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine which makes 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. Also, unlike the Swift sold in India, this model gets a 12V mild hybrid system which slightly improves its fuel efficiency. Transmission duties on this concept will be handled by a 5-speed gearbox.
Apart from these, being the Allgrip model, it gets the Allgrip all-wheel-drive system from Suzuki, which gets activated via a clutch pack. This sends the power to the rear wheels when the front wheels start to lose grip. The 0–100 time of the Suzuki Swift Allgrip FX is the same 13.6 seconds as the standard model.
Although it has been mentioned that this is just a concept model and will not be launched in India or anywhere else in the world, it would still have been a good addition to the Indian lineup. Most likely, there will be a lot of people who would have paid the premium, as the upgrades done on this model look very nice. We hope that some enthusiast can take inspiration from this model and make one in India.
