Have you ever come across a person who is obsessed with a particular brand? For example, there are individuals who only like Apple iPhones and consider everything else inferior. This is not just the case with mobile phones but with cars too. There are people who have a soft corner for a particular brand. Here we have one such individual from Tamil Nadu, Mr. Abirami Ramanathan, who is a businessman and social activist. He recently got himself a BMW i7 luxury sedan and, surprisingly, this happens to be his seventh BMW 7-Series.
The video has been shared by a BMW dealership from Tamil Nadu. In the video, Mr. Ramanathan can be heard explaining how his love affair with the BMW 7-Series started. Mr. Ramanathan is a big name in the textile manufacturing sector and used to own the Abirami Mega Mall in Chennai - which also holds the title of being the first shopping mall and family entertainment center in India.
He mentions that he wanted to buy a car and, as he has been a fan of BMW, he had used several cars from the brand in the past. Once he decided to upgrade to the BMW 7-Series, the sheer amount of space, features, and comfort that it offered surprised him. Not just him, his wife was also fully satisfied with the experience.
From then on, the businessman used several BMW 7-Series cars. In fact, he had bought six of them till then. The car seen here in the video is his seventh 7-Series. However, this was different from the rest. While all the older models were ICE, this is the first time he is buying an electric version of the car. In fact, we assume this is his first EV.
The businessman had bought the eDrive 50 M Sport variant of the BMW i7 electric luxury saloon. Just like any luxury car in this segment, the BMW i7 also offers features like a curved display for infotainment and the instrument cluster, as well as a 31.3-inch 8K cinema screen mounted on the car’s roof that can be folded down. Additionally, the rear doors feature a 5.5-inch touchscreen to control infotainment, climate control, and seats. Other features include multi-zone climate control, leather seats, electrically adjustable seats with memory and massage functions, and more.
Coming to the specs, this electric luxury sedan comes with a 101.7 kWh battery pack that generates 536 bhp and 745 Nm of peak torque. The power is sent to the dual motors placed at the front and rear. The electric sedan has a claimed driving range of 625 km. Coming to the prices, a brand-new BMW i7 electric luxury sedan will cost you anywhere around Rs 2.05 crore, ex-showroom, to Rs 2.58 crore, ex-showroom.
