A large number of people in India still rely on farming as a major source of income. We often see reports where farmers are not getting the best rates for their yield and are often exploited by middlemen. Because of this reason, we often believe that all farmers are poor and are not making enough to meet their needs. However, a video from Tamil Nadu has been going viral on the internet lately. In this video, we see a farmer selling his produce from the boot of a Maruti Ertiga MPV that he owns.

The video has been shared by Behindwoods News on their Instagram page. The video shows a white-coloured Maruti Ertiga parked on the side of the road. There is an elderly gentleman sitting in the boot of the Ertiga with a load of tapioca in it.

The gentleman seen inside the car is a farmer, and he was selling the tapioca, which is a kind of tuber, from the car. Locals noticed the car parked and were surprised to see someone selling veggies from an expensive car like this. Usually, we see farmers and vendors buy old Maruti WagonR or Alto cars for this purpose but, in this case, it looked like a new car.

The reason why the video went viral on the internet is because the car seen here in the video is not rented but belongs to the farmer himself. We can hear him confirm the same in the video too.

The farmer can be heard saying that the yield this year was good, but because of the rains, it was getting destroyed. In order to make money from what was left, he decided to sell the tapioca from the boot of his car.

The exact details of the place where the car was parked are not clear as the anchor is speaking in Tamil. Although he is selling tapioca, he has made sure that the interior of his car doesn’t get dirty. The tubers are actually lying on a transparent plastic sheet on the floor of the car. This way, he can protect the light-coloured cabin, floor, and seats from getting dirty.

This is not the first time we have come across a video like this from India. In this case, the farmer is only selling his produce. However, we have seen videos where people are actually operating food joints and tea shops from the boot of their cars.

We have featured a video from Pune, Maharashtra, where a group of young men bought a used Audi car and decided to sell tea from the back of it. This was a marketing stunt, and it caught the attention of the buyers who were passing by.

It is not every day that you see tea being sold from the back of a luxury car. Many tried recreating the same trend using other cars in different parts of the country. There was even a girl who was using a Royal Enfield motorcycle to pull a cart that she used to sell snacks.
