Tata Harrier.ev is currently the flagship electric SUV from the Indian car manufacturer. It was one of the most awaited models from Tata this year, and they have, in fact, managed to grab the attention of the public with aggressive pricing and features. One thing that many people are still concerned about in an EV is the driving range. Tata claims that the bigger 75 kWh battery pack variant of the Harrier.ev has a driving range of 627 km. While this looks promising for most customers, here we have one owner who actually tested the same in real-world conditions.

The video has been shared by Rohit Soni on his YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of the Harrier.ev Empowered 75 kWh variant is driving from Jaipur to Udaipur with his family. He starts the trip with his wife and two kids on board.

They start driving through busy city traffic and soon join the highway. As we all know, many states in North India were experiencing heavy rainfall, and Rajasthan was also among them. The owner drives the car through waterlogged service roads in the city. In 10 percent charge, they covered around 48 km, and that looked promising. The instrument cluster was showing a range of 480 km.

The driver continued his journey and the family didn’t stop at all. They were completely committed to finding out the real-world range of the Harrier electric. The SUV seen here is the RWD variant, and the owner mentions that halfway through the journey, they had to pick up one more family that was joining them on this trip.

The Harrier.ev covered over 100 km while consuming 25 percent of the battery. The owner was maintaining highway speeds, and he also mentioned that the car had luggage for all the passengers. Apart from the driver and his family, now two adults and a kid had also joined them on the trip. In total, the car had 4 adults and 3 kids in it.

They were comfortably cruising on the highway. Soon, the battery percentage started dropping, and after covering around 300 km, the MID was showing 25 percent SOC. The owner was sure that the SUV was not going to offer a 480 km range. He tried to push the car to its limit to find out the actual range.

He mentions that even at 25 percent, the car had not started showing any signs of low SOC. All features were working, and even the AC was running. However, at 10 percent, it was showing 58 km range, and the owner had by then started looking for charging stations nearby. They managed to find one by the time 5 percent battery was left.

Coming to the range, the owner mentions that he drove the car with 4 occupants, a boot full of luggage, and at highway speeds, and he managed to achieve 368 km. He drove the car for 368 km with 5 percent charge left. This means the car can give a maximum of 390–400 km if driven carefully.
