Tata Safari Owner Thanks SUV For Saving Family's Life In Severe Rollover Crash

Over the last few years, the safety standards of Tata Motors cars have increased a lot. It was the first company to launch a car (Nexon) that managed to receive a perfect 5-star safety rating. Since then, a lot of models from the brand have received five-star safety ratings. Recently, a Tata Safari owner has shared his experience in which he has praised the safety of his SUV along with Tata Motors. He explained that despite the vehicle getting completely flipped over and destroyed, it managed to save his life.

Tata Safari saved a life

The experience of a Tata Safari owner after suffering a horrific accident has been shared on the TeamBHP forum. In his post, the Tata Safari Dark Edition owner explained that he was driving on a national highway at night while using the lower beams on his Safari. Suddenly, he noticed a tractor trolley laden with sugarcane come in front of his vehicle.

To avoid a direct collision with the tractor, the Safari driver, in desperation, turned the vehicle toward the right side with all his force. Unfortunately, there was a large tree stump protruding from the ground. He added that his SUV then crashed into this stump, which caused it to topple.

Aftermath of this accident

From the images, we can note that the vehicle was completely flipped over. The entire front of this Tata Safari Dark Edition has been destroyed. However, there is visibly more damage on the right side, which first hit the stump on the ground. The owner has also shared images of the interior of this accident as well.

It can be noted that all of the airbags, including the front and side airbags, have been deployed. In his post, the owner reported that he sustained airbag- and seat belt-related bruises. He added that one of his ribs was also broken due to seat belt compression. However, he concluded that no major life-threatening injuries had been suffered.

Tata Safari's safety

While elaborating on the safety aspect of the Tata Safari, the owner mentioned that the driver and co-driver cabin remained intact. Also, there was no intrusion into the occupant space from the engine compartment. He added that the steering linkages collapsed and folded, preventing them from entering the cabin.

Apart from this, the owner highlighted that the engine mounts of the vehicle also broke and deformed upwards. He explained that this ensured the engine and mechanical components did not enter the cabin. The owner stated that his Safari had been completely totaled due to the impact. However, despite the severity of the accident, the occupant survival cell was not compromised.

Owner's appreciation for Tata Motors

In his post, the Tata Safari owner expressed his gratitude for the brand. He highlighted that he is especially thankful to the engineers, platform designers, and management. The owner also appreciated Tata Motors for not compromising on safety through cost-cutting measures. He stated, “Your (Tata Motors) hard work showed when it mattered and saved me.”

The Tata Safari comes equipped with features such as six airbags as standard, and the top-of-the-line variants get seven airbags. Other safety features include an Electronic Stability Program with 17 capabilities, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants with reminders, ISOFIX restraints, ADAS Level 2, a 360-degree camera, and many others.
