Road rage incidents have become so common in India lately that people have started installing dashcams in their cars for safety. Videos from these dashcams often serve as evidence when road rage incidents escalate. Many people even post these videos online to show how rude drivers can be on our roads. Here, we have one such video in which two men traveling in a Tata Safari Storme turn the vehicle without looking at oncoming traffic and threaten a car driver after blocking the way.

Watch on YouTube

The video was shared by Bad Drivers of Bangalore on their YouTube channel. It was recorded in Maharashtra, but the exact location and date of the incident are unknown. In the video, we see a car with a dashcam cruising down a highway. There is a Maruti WagonR in front of the dashcam car. The driver passes through a toll plaza, overtakes the WagonR, and continues driving without any issues.

After overtaking the hatchback, the dashcam car continues for a few hundred meters and notices a cut in the median. A Tata Ace pickup truck takes a U-turn through the gap, followed by a Tata Safari Storme. As the dashcam car approaches the cut, the Safari driver, without any consideration for the oncoming traffic, decides to turn.

The dashcam car stops in time to avoid a crash. However, the Tata Safari Storme driver becomes offended for some reason. He stops his car in the middle of the road, gets out, and starts shouting at the dashcam car driver. The dashcam car driver wisely chooses not to react, staying inside his car and remaining calm.

Safari Storme blocks way

The Safari driver tries to intimidate and argue with the dashcam car driver, but when he realizes that the driver is not reacting, he continues shouting, and locals gather around the car. The entire incident is recorded on the dashcam. The driver and co-passenger of the Safari Storme are seen threatening the dashcam car driver.

When the driver realizes that the situation is not looking good, he simply apologizes, which likely helps to defuse the tension. This video is a good example of why one should remain calm while driving on Indian roads, especially in such situations. This is not the first time we have seen a road rage video on the internet.

However, what makes this incident different is the way the driver handled the situation. He remained calm and let the other person vent his frustration. When he realized the other driver was not going to back down without a confrontation, he simply apologized, which changed the situation entirely.

Although vehicles going straight have the right of way, in this case, the driver had ample time to spot the Safari and slow down. However, he decided to continue driving, expecting the other person to stop or slow down.

Remember you are driving in India and always expect the unexpected. Both the Safari driver and the dashcam car driver share some blame, but the dashcam car driver deserves credit for the way he handled the situation.
