A lot of people believe that Tata Motors makes some of the country's safest cars; meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki does not offer any safety. So now, what happens when a crash takes place between the cars of these two opposite brands? Well, here's the result of a crash of a brand-new Tata Safari and a Maruti Suzuki Dzire from the last generation. It can be noted that on one hand, the Tata Safari stood strong like nothing happened; the Dzire, on the other hand, got destroyed completely.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire vs Tata Safari

This video, showing the aftermath of the crash between a Tata Safari and Maruti Suzuki Dzire, has been shared on YouTube by Piyush Maths Academy on their channel. It starts off with the video showing the impact on the front end of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire third-generation model.

We can note that the bonnet of this Dzire has been pushed back completely due to the impact of the rear-end crash, which it had with the Safari. We can also observe that the front right headlight of this sedan has also been broken, along with the front bumper. The grille has also taken a lot of brunt, and it is broken beyond repair.

On the other hand, the video then shows the damage on the Tata Safari, which had been hit in the rear by this Dzire. We can observe that the only damage on the Safari is its rear skid plate has come off, and there are minor scratches on the bumper.

Why is the damage on Dzire more than Safari?

Now, many Tata Motors fans will be cheering for the brand and will be boasting the superior safety and build quality of Tata cars. However, the reason behind the difference in damages between the two cars is slightly more complex. For those who may not be aware, all automakers are required to provide their cars with crumple zones on the front end.

This is done to make sure that in an event of an accident like the one that we just saw, instead of the impact getting transferred into the cabin of the vehicle and hurting its passengers, the crumple zones on the front of the car collapse while absorbing the impact. So in this case, the crumple zones of Dzire got damaged.

It also has to be noted that the front end of the Dzire sits a lot lower than the rear of the Tata Safari. Hence, the bonnet of the Dzire had to directly take the impact, which deformed it. Lastly, we have to agree with the Tata fans that the cars offered by the company do have better build quality than most Maruti Suzuki cars. So the damage on this Dzire, although more, is nothing surprising.

Maruti has improved the safety of Dzire

As stated, the Dzire seen in the video is the third-generation model, which had an appalling 2-star safety rating. However, with the fourth-generation model, the company has turned things around and has improved the sedan significantly.

The fourth-generation sedan scored 31.24 points out of 34 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 39.20 out of 42 in Child Occupant Protection (COP). In other words, the new car scored 5 stars in adult safety and 4 in child safety. It has also become the first Maruti car to score a 5-star safety rating in GNCAP crash tests.
