Tata Tiago Crashes Into Toyota Fortuner And Makes SUV Roll Over Multiple Times

Generally, people believe that if they are in a bigger vehicle on Indian roads, they are safer. However, with the changing scenario of more safe vehicles being produced, it has become a thing of the past. Recently proving this exact statement, an aftermath video of a crash between a Tata Tiago hatchback and a Toyota Fortuner SUV has been shared online. In this short clip, the Tata Tiago, despite crashing with such a massive SUV, can be seen in decent condition. Meanwhile, the Fortuner was seen with a ton of damage after rolling over many times.
This video of the Tata Tiago and Toyota Fortuner crash has been shared on Instagram by Safe Cars India on their page. In this short clip, a Tata Tiago can be seen with its front end completely destroyed. We can note that the bonnet, grille, bumper, and cooling system were completely broken.
On the other hand, the video also shows a white Toyota Fortuner at a distance with even more damage. It can be noted that it has damage on the roof, rear section, and its axle was also broken. There was also a wheel lodged underneath the Fortuner, which made it look like it was floating.
As per the post, what happened was that the Toyota Fortuner was driving at a very high speed. The eyewitnesses who saw the accident also highlighted that the Fortuner was on temporary registration plates. They added that the Tata Tiago, on the other hand, was driving at a slower speed when it T-boned the Fortuner.
The locals mentioned that the Fortuner driver tried to avoid a collision with the Tiago. However, as the speed was very high, the driver could not bring the vehicle to a halt on time and eventually crashed with the hatchback. As a result, the axle of the Fortuner was broken after it hit the Tiago, and it flipped over.
The post added that the Toyota Fortuner flipped multiple times and stopped after rolling over 100 meters from the spot of the accident. It can be noted that the airbags of the Tiago were deployed. However, whether the Fortuner’s airbags were deployed or not is unknown.
At the moment, there are no reports that have mentioned the condition of the drivers and passengers of both vehicles. However, it is believed that no one was seriously injured as the airbags were deployed.
Not only in India but across the globe, T-bone accidents are very common. For those who may not be aware, what happens in a T-bone accident is that one vehicle is driving in its lane straight, and the other vehicle, which is on a turn or at an intersection, hits the vehicle going straight on the side.
Generally, what happens is that the vehicle which gets hit on the side gets rolled over if it is lighter than the vehicle coming from the other side. However, in this particular scenario, the Fortuner was flipped over because it was being driven at a high speed.
When a speeding vehicle is hit by even a smaller vehicle, it can be easily flipped over. For this very reason, it is always advised to drivers to be extra attentive on turns and intersections.
