Tata is currently one of the leading car manufacturers in India. Not only do they have ICE vehicles, but they also have a decent number of vehicles in the EV range as well. Tata updates their models on a regular basis. They are, in fact, one of the only manufacturers in India to offer a variety of powertrain options to customers. They have petrol, turbo petrol, diesel, CNG, and even electric vehicles in their lineup. Here is a list of four such new petrol cars from Tata that one should watch out for:

Altroz Facelift

First on the list is the Altroz. Tata recently released an official video of the updated Altroz hatchback online. Tata has made several cosmetic changes to the premium hatchback to give it a fresh look. The Altroz hatchback is available with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that generates 87 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with manual and DCA gearbox options.

The next is the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The Altroz is currently the only hatchback in this segment to offer a diesel engine. This engine generates 88 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generates 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. The official launch of the Altroz facelift will happen on May 22, 2025.

Harrier Petrol

The Harrier is a popular mid-size SUV from Tata’s stable. The SUV is known for its bold looks, sturdy build quality, and features. It received a major facelift in 2023. Unlike the competition, Tata only offers a diesel engine with the Harrier. However, that is about to change. Tata has been working on a turbocharged petrol engine for the Harrier, and the same has been spotted testing on several occasions.

2024 Tata Harrier petrol 1

The Harrier petrol is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-litre TGDI petrol engine that generates 170 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque. The engine is expected to be paired with a 6-speed MT and a DCA transmission. The launch is expected to happen sometime around the festive season this year.

Sierra Petrol

The Tata Sierra is an iconic SUV that was launched way ahead of its time. Tata has now decided to reintroduce the Sierra in a new avatar. The near-production-ready version of the SUV has been spotted testing on the road, and the official launch is expected to happen later next year.

2025 Tata Sierra

Tata will be offering the Sierra in ICE as well as EV versions. The ICE version will get diesel as well as turbocharged petrol engine options. This would be the same brand-new turbocharged petrol unit that Tata is developing for the Harrier.

The 1.5-litre TGDI unit will be offered with manual and DCA gearbox options and is expected to generate 170 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque.

Safari Petrol

After the Harrier, Tata will also introduce the turbocharged petrol engine with the Safari SUV. The seven-seater SUV will use the 1.5-litre turbocharged GDI engine with both manual and automatic transmissions on offer. An electric version of the Safari is also lined up for launch in the future.
