12 Year-Old Boy Lies Flat On Railway Track As Train Passes For Instagram Reel: Detained

Internet and social media have gained so much popularity over the years that many people have picked them as a career and are earning from them. However, there are others who are constantly searching for ways to create viral content to gain popularity. In a bid to achieve this fame, people often do illegal and dangerous things. Here we have one such video from Odisha, where a 12-year old boy is seen lying flat on a railway track while a train passes over him. Why did he do that? Well, to be famous on social media.

The video has been shared by News9Live on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a boy lying on the railway track. He is accompanied by his friends, who are recording the video. The incident happened in Odisha’s Boudh district. The stunt is said to have taken place near Talupali, close to Purunapani station.

As they see the train approaching, the boy lies flat between the tracks. We can hear the boy recording the video cheering in excitement, and within seconds, we see the train pass over the boy. The train passed over him, and the boy emerged unharmed. After getting up from the track, the boy starts posing for photos to celebrate his “victory.”

The video was uploaded on social media and almost immediately gained attention from viewers. Not just regular viewers, but authorities also came across the video and decided to take action against the boys. After the video went viral, Railway Protection Force officers visited the village of the minors and spoke to them along with their parents.

An awareness drive to educate people about such irresponsible behaviour is also underway. The officers, however, mentioned that the two boys who were directly involved in the stunt will be detained and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. A third minor who was standing near the tracks will not face any charges.

As per several media reports, the boy told the officers that it was not his idea to lie on the track. His friends had come up with it, and he was actually scared to do it as he thought he might not survive.

This is not the first time we have come across videos like this on the internet. However, in the past, many people have faked these stunts and have gotten into trouble for promoting such content on social media. In this case though, these boys didn’t fake it.

The boy was actually under the train, and it is an extremely dangerous stunt to pull off. It is not only against railway safety rules but also extremely risky. Lying on a live railway track is incredibly dangerous, as even a minor error can lead to serious injuries or death.

Now, the main reason why these kids did such a stunt was to gain popularity on social media, and they were somehow convinced that doing dangerous or life-threatening stunts is the way to be popular - and that is a dangerous thought. Hopefully, they won’t do such stunts in the future.
