India's And Pakistan Share The Same Favourite Luxury SUV
The Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular cars for sale in India. However, did you know that our troublesome neighbour Pakistan is also a fan of this SUV? Yes, you heard that right. The aura which the Fortuner has in India is the same as it has in Pakistan. Recently, a video describing the love for the Toyota Fortuner in Pakistan has been shared online. The person in the video highlights that despite it costing over Rs 2 crore Pakistani rupees, more than 20 Fortuners are sold in the country.
Over 20 Fortuners sold in Pakistan every day
This video, talking about the Toyota Fortuner’s craze in the notorious country of Pakistan, has been shared on YouTube by Naye Rastey on their channel. In this short video, the person starts off by mentioning that many people in Pakistan complain that they don't have money to eat.
On the other hand, there are people who own super expensive Toyota Fortuners. He highlights that the Toyota Fortuner in Pakistan costs over 2 crore Pakistani rupees. And despite this massive price tag, the wealthy people of the country are buying this SUV without any issue.
He added it has been reported that 20 Fortuners are sold on a daily basis in Pakistan, despite half of the population not being able to afford basic amenities. He then adds that an investigation should be carried out to find out how this is possible.
Fortuner variants in Pakistan
The Toyota Fortuner is sold in five variants in Pakistan. These are namely: 2.7 G (PKR 1.45 crore), 2.7 V (PKR 1.7 crore), 2.8 Sigma 4 (PKR 1.8 crore), Legender (PKR 1.9 crore), and GR-S (PKR 1.99 crore). When compared to the prices in India, the Fortuner is around Rs 1–1.5 lakh more expensive in Pakistan.
Toyota Fortuner sales in India
The sales of 20 Toyota Fortuners per day in Pakistan is nothing when compared to that of India. In FY2024, the Toyota Fortuner was the best-selling full-size premium SUV in India. A total of 35,063 units of the Fortuner were sold in India in FY2024, which equals 96 units sold every day. This SUV dwarfs the sales of its rivals like the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
Why is the Fortuner so popular in India and Pakistan?
