This Toyota Hilux Wants To Be A Dodge RAM Pickup Truck [Video]
The American pickup trucks are famous across the globe for their massive sizes and off-roading capabilities. However, due to their high price tag, not many of them can be brought to India. To solve this issue, recently a video of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck being modified to look like a Dodge RAM truck has been shared online. This particular Hilux has also been given a ton of other modifications as well, which make it look like an off-road-ready machine.
The video showing this American pickup truck theme inspired by the Hilux has been shared on Instagram. It comes courtesy of Azad 4X4. The shop is based in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and is known for creating some of the most unique off-road vehicles. They have worked on a ton of Toyota Hiluxes, Maruti Jimnys, and a number of other vehicles.
American Truck-Inspired Toyota Hilux
In this short video, the host starts by mentioning that this truck has been given an American pickup truck appearance. For this, at the front, an Outlander metal bumper has been added. It gets two red shackles, four LED light pods for improved visibility during night adventures, and a brand-new bonnet.
Apart from these, the main highlight of this build is the addition of a RAM-branded front grille. For those who may not be aware, RAM is a sub-brand of the popular American automaker Dodge. They specialize in making pickup trucks, from which this Hilux has taken inspiration. This grille also gets four amber lights, which are used to signify an oversized vehicle.
It can also be noted that this truck has been given a lifted suspension as well. The exact size of this lift kit is unknown; however, it appears to be around a 4-inch lift kit. This pickup truck also gets a set of aftermarket alloy wheels as well as a massive snorkel on the driver’s side.
In addition to these, on the side profile, this Hilux also gets a set of additional claddings and a custom footstep with the same amber LED lights. It also gets a carrier on the roof as well. Moving to the rear, the shop has also added an additional roll bar cage on the truck bed and an aftermarket metal rear bumper as well.
Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux is a purpose-built off-road pickup truck. It comes available with a single engine option. The Hilux gets a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which produces a maximum of 201 bhp of power. With its manual transmission, it makes around 420 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the automatic transmission variant makes 500 Nm of torque.
Not the Only Radical Hilux from Azad 4X4
The above-shown modified Hilux is not the only unique Hilux created by Azad 4X4. A while ago, the company managed to create one of the most radical Hiluxes in India. This particular Hilux was given a ton of modifications.
Its list of mods included a 6-inch lift kit from Unicorn, new shock absorbers imported from Australia, and lightweight aluminum bumpers on the front and rear from Rival. It was also given a Bushranger towing winch with a synthetic rope, as well as two 7-inch circular LED jungle lights.
Other modifications of this Hilux were 20-inch Fuel alloy wheels with massive 35-inch tyres, a GR Sport carbon fiber steering wheel, and a GR Sport gear lever. This pickup truck also received a custom roof rack with six LED lights mounted on top.
