Electric cars' popularity in the Indian market is rising, and more brands are entering this space every year. Most people who are buying EVs are first-time EV buyers, and many of them face several issues during the transition. However, most of them are slowly learning and getting used to the EV lifestyle. Here we have a video where a man explains why he sold his Toyota Innova and bought an MG Windsor EV.
Sold His Innova For Windsor
The video has been shared by Amar Drayan on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks to the owner of an MG Windsor EV who bought the EV 2 months ago. The Windsor EV is being marketed as a CUV, and the customer bought this after selling his Toyota Innova.
The reason he sold the Toyota Innova was because of its age. He is from Haryana and has to commute to the Delhi NCR region regularly. Due to NGT rules, old diesel vehicles couldn't enter or be driven on the roads of the Delhi NCR region. He was forced to sell the car, and before selling it off, he was looking for alternative options. He did consider other petrol and diesel cars, but he felt that the 10-year or 15-year rule by the government would cause him problems in the future again.

This is when he thought of buying an EV. The owner decided to visit EV showrooms. He went to a Tata dealership and checked out the Nexon.ev and Punch.ev. He then went to an MG dealership, and that is when he saw the Windsor EV. He was instantly drawn to the car because of its looks, features, and space.
As the owner previously owned a Toyota Innova, he wanted a car that came with a spacious cabin and offered a comfortable driving position. The Windsor EV offered this, and that is why he opted for it. He then said that the second-row seat in the Windsor EV is more spacious than his Innova.
He finalized the Windsor EV and directly went to the dealership after selling his Innova. When he went to the dealership, he was surprised to know that the higher variant of the Windsor EV had a waiting period of over a month. He then picked up a lower variant on the same day and drove home with it.
This was two months ago, and since then, the owner has driven over 8,000 km with the car. He has not faced any issues with the service or dealership staff to date. He has done two services of the Windsor EV from the dealership too.
He mentions that he has been getting a constant 280-290 km driving range with his EV. He drives mostly on highways and uses the regen mode accordingly. He says that if you drive at a constant speed, you can easily squeeze a better range from the batteries.
He also talks about the negatives of the Windsor EV. He says that road noise often filters into the cabin when he is on rough road sections. The boot space in the Windsor EV is claimed to be over 600 liters, but after installing a spare wheel at the rear, there is not much space left in the boot. Apart from these minor issues, the owner is extremely happy with the product and calls it value for money.
