The Toyota Land Cruiser is known for its reliability and longevity and the same makes it rank among the ‘most facelifted cars’ in India. We get to find many LC owners going for ‘facelifting’ or transformation, to keep their rides fresh. The new Land Cruisers (LC 300) remain largely unchanged in proportions. Such conversions also make sense financially, as the LC 300 commands a hefty price. An 8-year-old Land Cruiser (LC200) from Gujarat recently got facelifted to LC300, and the garage that did the work shared a detailed video on their official YouTube channel. The video is so satisfying to watch.

The LC200 was in good condition when it came to the garage. It was single-hand driven and over 8 years old. It, however, had a few dents and scratches on the body panels. The owner wanted the final form to stay true to the OE form and also wanted it to look ‘brand new’. The kits used for the facelift were sourced accordingly.

First, the body panels and various parts of the SUV were dismantled. Then denting works were done using dent pullers and other tools. In this case, even the sunroof and roof liners had to be removed, as there were dents on the roof as well.

The kit used on this vehicle is not OE. Taking the OE route will cost at least 20- lakh. This aftermarket kit costs much less without compromising on quality. The video details each step involved in the facelifting process. The facelift kit includes bonnet, lights, fenders, fog lamps, tailgate, cladding, etc. Before starting the actual work, these parts are checked for fitment and if there are any large panel gaps.

The video further shows how the team at Brotomotive fits each component and member, and how carefully they complete each checklist. You can see how the cuts and welds are made, and how each component is fitted carefully.

The paintwork on this SUV is so satisfying to watch. It shows how carefully the garage does the job, from cleaning to dry sanding, primer-ing and applying the actual paint. The garage spokesperson says that Brotomotive strives to give customers ample options. In this case, the customer wanted the car to look as much OE as possible.

He wanted it to wear the LC’s original Pearl White colour. The garage thus worked hard to realise this wish. The paint gets 3 coats- Base coat, Pearl coat and clear. The video shows them mix the paint and finally, when the finished product is shown, we realise how good the paint quality is and how good it looks on the SUV. The entire paint job was done in a professional paint booth.

Then, the panels were all fitted properly and the vehicle was ready for sanding. The finished product was looking impressively OEM. The Brotomotive garage deserves praise for this clean job. Finally, Barricade’s graphene coating was applied for paint protection. This solution comes with a 5-year application warranty. The vehicle was then ready for delivery.
