Cop Stops And Schools Father After Kids Hang Out Of Hyundai Venue's Sunroof [Video]
One of the most misused features on modern cars in India is the sunroof. This creature comfort feature was designed and offered in vehicles to let fresh air inside the cabin along with sunlight. However, in India, people tend to use it to stand outside the moving vehicle. Thankfully, there are some good cops on the road who are trying to help people avoid getting involved in accidents due to this so-called fun activity. Recently, a video was shared online in which a cop was seen explaining to a father the dangers of letting kids stand out of the sunroof.
Cop calmly explains dangers of sunroof
This video, showing the helpful and calm cop explaining the dangers of the sunroof to a father, has been shared on X by Jeetusp on their page. It starts off with a traffic police officer from Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, stopping a white-colored Hyundai Venue on the road. He stopped this sub-compact SUV as there were two very young girls who were standing out of the sunroof.
He then immediately gestured to the driver of the car to stop his vehicle on the side of the road. Thankfully, the person did not try to escape, and he parked his vehicle. After this, the cop came close to the car, and while walking towards the driver, he calmly asked the kids to sit inside the vehicle. After this, he told the father of these kids not to let them stand out of the sunroof.
The cop then started explaining that the sunroof is not designed for kids to stand in while the vehicle is moving. He added that the reason behind this is that when the vehicle is moving and the kids are out of the vehicle from the sunroof, half of their body is outside. And if, in case, any animal like a dog, or a car, or any other obstacle comes in front and the driver has to suddenly apply the brakes.
So, in that case, the kids can slide off the roof and come directly in front of the vehicle, causing a fatal accident. During this explanation, the driver of the vehicle was also listening attentively and agreed with the traffic police officer. Before concluding, the cop also added that there have been many cases in which people have died due to kite ropes on the road, so this stunt should always be avoided.
Not the first time
This is not the first time that we have seen a parent letting their kids stand out of the sunroof. A little while ago, a Kia Carens owner let his kids stand out of the sunroof during heavy traffic in Bangalore, Karnataka. What happened next was that after the video showing this incident became viral, a police investigation was launched.
As a result of this, the father of those kids and the owner of the Kia Carens was found using the registration number of the vehicle. After which, this person was asked to report at the police station, where he was handed over a fine of Rs 1,000 for letting his kids stand out of the sunroof.
