Traffic police play an important role in the enforcement of traffic rules on public roads. For this, they have to stop a lot of offenders who violate traffic rules. However, sometimes these cops stop people for no reason at all in order to get some bribe. Unfortunately, due to this, a lot of drivers try to escape, and that causes accidents. Recently, a video was shared online in which a similar crash was seen. A Maruti Suzuki Dzire was seen crashing into a Volkswagen Vento as a traffic constable asked the driver to stop out of nowhere.

This video of the crash caused by traffic police on the road has been shared on Instagram by Chengai Vlog on their page. In this short clip, we can note that the vlogger, along with a few other vehicles, was coming down from a flyover. On the right lane, there was a white Maruti Suzuki Dzire and a Volkswagen Vento.

How did traffic police cause an accident?

A little further in the video, we can note that on the left lane, there were a few traffic police personnel standing. So when the Volkswagen Vento, which was driving ahead, came next to these police officers, one of them came into the middle of the road quickly and tried to stop it.

Unfortunately, the Vento driver had to suddenly apply the brakes due to the cop almost coming in front of him. However, due to this sudden reaction, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which was not prepared to brake, crashed into the rear of the Vento.

What happened next?

It can then be observed that the vlogger, who was recording the video, passes the traffic police personnel. However, the footage shows the damage sustained by the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The entire bonnet of the Dzire was mangled, and there was some damage on the front bumper as well.

The Volkswagen Vento, on the other hand, did not sustain any damage. Also, the Vento driver, following the accident, did not stop and drove away. It can be noted that the traffic police personnel then asked the Dzire to stop on the side of the road.

Who’s at fault here?

The entire fault in this accident is of the traffic police personnel. We can see that all of these vehicles were coming down off a flyover, where generally one would never expect a police officer. However, in this case, there was one, and he came into the middle of the road abruptly, which caused this accident.

Should the Vento driver have stopped?

It has to be mentioned that although the fault was of the police personnel, the Vento driver should have stopped after he was asked. In this accident, the entire loss was incurred by the Maruti Suzuki Dzire owner, who was at no fault.

Now, had the driver of the Vento stopped, he could have received his insurance information. Unfortunately, to avoid paying for damages, the Vento driver drove away.

Not the first time

This is not the first time that we have seen a traffic police authority cause an accident on a public road. Just a few months ago, another video was shared online in which a traffic police constable jumped out of bushes into the main road to stop a family of four riding on a bike.

In the video, it was noted that due to the sudden appearance of this traffic police constable, the rider immediately tried to dodge him. However, due to this maneuver, it caused the rider and his family members to fall on the busy road.

Thankfully, the cars that were just behind managed to apply brakes on time and avoided hitting the biker and his family. However, if any driver had been at a decent speed, it could have caused a very dangerous accident involving the family on the road.
