Driving on Indian roads can be tricky. In many places, people tend to violate traffic rules and end up causing crashes or serious inconvenience to the public around. In most such cases, the offenders make it out of the scene without enduring any penalties or punishments. A video shared on YouTube, however, shows a case in which a person who violated lane traffic and caused inconvenience to those around, was issued a challan instantly! There is however, a twist...

The incident was recorded on a dashcam installed on one of the vehicles involved. It seems to be from East Delhi. We are not sure of the details of the vehicle which had the dashboard camera. However, going by the view of the bonnet, it seems safe to assume it to be an SUV.

At the beginning of the video, we see the vehicle with the dashcam turning right from a traffic junction. It is following all lane discipline and is being driven responsibly. As it enters the new road, we see a policeman standing at the junction, keeping a keen eye on the vehicles around.

The single-lane road has a line of vehicles waiting for the lights to turn green. The video shows a Nissan Magnite and Maruti Celerio patiently waiting, in the left lane.

Behind the Celerio, however, is a Silver Grand Vitara waiting with half of its body parked beyond the centre line and in the right lane. It is clearly a violation of lane traffic. The impact of this violation doesn't seem to be too big, as there is room on the left lane for vehicles to pass through. We can in fact, see a Black Toyota Hyryder and a Creta go through this gap safely.

The vehicle with the dashcam, however, decides to teach the violating vehicle a lesson. He starts honking the moment he sees the violation and soon stops his vehicle right in front of it. The driver refuses to make it to the other side, through the left.

This lands the Grand Vitara in trouble. It is left with no room to properly get in line with the waiting vehicles. The honking doesn't stop until the traffic policeman (who was seen standing at the junction) shows up at the scene. At some point in time, we can even see the Grand Vitara driver signalling the camera car to go through the space on the left. He doesn't heed.

The cop soon shows up, and quickly takes control of things. He takes photographs of the vehicle number plate and issues a challan for lane rules violation. He then asks the Vitara to reverse and clear the road for the vehicles to pass through.

The driver seems to be quite embarrassed by the situation. This is evident in the way he reverses. He tends to keep to his right and almost hits a two-wheeler that's passing by. He has to reverse to the end of the line, in order to make way for the waiting vehicles. The driver of the car fitted with the camera can also be seen thanking the cop for his timely intervention.

The Twist...

Most people would think that the act of making the violator pay for his offence was heroic. However, it should also be noted that the 'camera car' could have likely created a major inconvenience to the vehicles around by refusing to pass through the available space and creating a scene. It is evident from the video that the traffic came to a complete standstill for some time. Interestingly, this is something that the 'violator' hadn't done!
