Sometimes the timing of accidents taking place on roads is so perfect that it shocks everyone who sees it. Recently, one such video was shared online, which has since become viral. What happens in this clip is that an engineer overseeing the construction of a bridge, along with his entire team, almost got crushed by a truck which flipped over. Thankfully, all of the people on the road were able to run away on time; otherwise, they would have come under the truck.

This video showing the dangerous incident has been shared on X by Vivek Gupta on their page. As per the post, this particular incident took place in Beed, Maharashtra. A few people were standing on the side of the road; meanwhile, a few were standing at a distance. In just a few moments, what happened was that the truck, which was on the extreme right side of the muddy side road, started slipping. As a result of this, it then flipped over and fell on the left side.

We can note that after noting that the truck is about to completely flip over, people started running away. Even the engineer jumped over the under-construction bridge beam to save himself. Also, we can observe that a person, while trying to run away, fell on the side. However, he continued and jumped into a ditch in which the beam of the bridge was placed and was filled with water.

The video shows that the truck driver was stuck inside it after it flipped on its left side. He was then able to stand and come out of the truck from the driver-side window unhurt. As for the people on the road, nobody was injured, and all of them managed to escape just in time.

Netizens’ reactions

Many people have highlighted that construction of roads and other infrastructure in India is done at an extremely sub-par level. In this case as well, netizens were seen blaming the contractor for not constructing a proper diversion road before commencing the work. A user on the post stated, “This is the real state of affairs in India! An accident that happens under government supervision.”

Meanwhile, another user highlighted, “Infra project must be given to limited big companies like L&T with full responsibilities. They can decide if they want to involve local companies for some work. Then only proper infra can be built. Local contractors are just money-making machines for babus and politicians.”

Poor Indian infrastructure

Just a little while ago, due to the lack of construction of a proper diversion road, recently at the Indore-Dewas highway, over 4,000 vehicles were stuck in a traffic jam which was 40 hours long and extended for 8 km. As a result of this jam, three innocent people even lost their lives.

Following this, the National Highways Authority of India (Delhi and Indore offices), Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways, Indore Collector’s office, Indore Police Commissioner, road construction company, and Indore Dewas Tollways Ltd. all were sued by an advocate who was stuck in this traffic jam.

What was the most pathetic part about this particular case was that the lawyer representing NHAI stated, “Why do people even leave home so early without any work?”
