Actress Explains Why She Chose Mahindra BE6 Electric SUV [Video]

Rebecca Santhosh is a familiar face among mini-screen viewers. This South Indian actress works primarily in Malayalam TV serials. She has also been part of several movies as well. Rebecca recently added a brand-new Mahindra BE6 electric SUV to her garage, and shared videos and pictures of the same on social media.
Rebecca was the first one from Kerala's Thrissur to take delivery of the BE6. She bought the vehicle in Red, and more recently, got it converted to Matte using PPF (Paint Protection Film). This made it Kerala's first Matte Red BE6. In a video shared by Online Malayali Entertainment, we see the actress share her experience with the BE6 and go vocal about the things that made her buy the EV.
As it turns out, the BE6 replaced a Kia Sonet in her garage. She says that it definitely feels different to live with an EV, for someone who has been accustomed to driving a petrol/disel vehicle. She seems to like the change and clearly, the BE6 has managed to impress her with its features and performance.
Rebecca says that she was considering the Hyryder when the BE6 was launched. She immediately got in touch with the nearest dealer, asking about the EV. This was in November last year, when Mahindra was offering hefty discounts on the XUV 400. The actress was disappointed when she was told by the dealer that any information on the vehicle was unavailable.
If you'd recollect, Mahindra revealed the BE6 and XEV 9e in November, and held the official media drives in Chennai. However, a long waiting followed for the people who got interested in these products, as the dealer dispatches began only in January. Official bookings started on February 14, 2025. This meant that potential buyers had to wait for more than two months to make reservations.
Rebecca says that she took a test drive of the BE6 from a dealer in Kochi, as soon as the demo vehicle landed there. She made sure that the first BE6 booking for the Thrissur dealer was from her. She was also particular about taking home the Red BE6.
Rebecca seems to be a car nut, and has in-depth knowledge of her BE. She even knows that Mahindra had initially given the BE6 and XEV 9e three driving modes- Everyday, Race and Range. The fourth- 'Default' was added later, well after the media drives.
The actress says that it took her some time getting used to the larger dimensions and higher stance of the BE6, especially as she was upgrading from the Sonet, a much smaller product. She seems to enjoy the insane acceleration offered by the BE6's capable powertrain.
Mahindra offers two battery packs on the BE6- 59kWh and 79 kWh- both sourced from BYD. The vehicle is based on Mahindra's in-house developed INGLO platform. This high-voltage EV architecture has been so designed to deliver impressive handling. The electric motor on the 79 kWh version produces 286 hp and 380 Nm, and powers the rear axle. The claimed range of this battery is around 682 km per charge.
The actress seems to be in love with what the BE6's feature list offers. She says that most of the things provided by the manufacturer are quite useful. The video also shows her explaining the various options and features of the electric SUV to the host. She has even used the BE's infotainment setup to stream movies and videos! Rebecca likes the vehicle's 'GrooveME' feature which syncs the lights with any music track that's being played and puts up a light show.
The video also shows her go vocal about the level 2 ADAS, and driver drowsiness monitoring on the BE6. She further says that the usable boot space on the BE6 is slightly lower than what's on offer on the Sonet. This is hard to believe, as the Sonet comes with just 385L, while the BE6 has a much larger boot, with a capacity of 455L.
Towards the end of the video, Rebecca expresses her intention to do some crazy drifts and donuts with the vehicle, once it completes 2000 km.
