Two Men Arrested For Dangerous Sunroof Stunts On Audi A4: Luxury Car Seized

Once again, another case involving people stunting while sitting on top of the roof after coming out of the sunroof has been shared online. This time, however, the authorities have acted very quickly and have arrested the individuals who were seen sitting on top of a moving Audi A4 luxury sedan on the Tirunelveli-Kanyakumari highway.
The video showing these two idiots sitting on the roof of an Audi A4 sedan has been shared on X by Thinak on their channel. It was recorded by another car driver who was driving just behind the Audi A4 on which this stunt took place. We can note that there were two men who were sitting on the Audi’s roof.
One of the men was sitting over the rear left side; meanwhile, the other man was sitting facing towards the rear end of the car. The first man was even using his smartphone while his legs were completely straight towards the left side of the vehicle. Finally, after a few seconds, both men go inside the Audi.
As per the reports, this stunt of sitting on top of the roof of the Audi A4 sedan took place on June 12 at the Nanguneri Tollgate on the Tirunelveli-Kanyakumari four-lane highway, which is a known accident-prone zone. It was then mentioned that soon after the video became viral, the authorities started their investigation. They first noted the vehicle registration number “TN 07 BL 7779.”
Following this, with the help of the details of the registration number, it was found that the vehicle belongs to someone from Thoothukudi. It has been reported that the Audi A4 seen in the video has been seized. As for the people who were on the roof of the vehicle, they were arrested by the police authorities.
The two men who were sitting on the roof of this Audi have been identified as Prabhu, aged 32, and Ishakkiraj / Esakki Raja, aged 26, from Thalamuthunagar in Thoothukudi district. The two main accused were arrested on Saturday, June 15, and were then remanded to judicial custody the same evening.
Presently, a case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act, and the charges include endangering public safety, violating traffic regulations, and reckless and dangerous driving. In addition, the police are also searching for the third individual, who was the driver. He is currently absconding.
Following the arrest and seizure of the Audi A4, the Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan issued a strong warning. He stated that any individual who is found engaging in illegal and dangerous stunts will face strict legal action. He added that such acts not only put the participants’ lives at risk but also endanger the lives of other road users. Silambarasan concluded by stating that the public should adhere to road safety norms without fail.
