Unseen Pictures Of Ratan Tata’s Car Collection

Mr. Ratan Tata played a crucial role in transforming the Tata Group into a globally recognized brand. He passed away last night at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after his health condition turned critical. Many prominent leaders, including the Prime Minister and the President, expressed their condolences after the news of Ratan Tata’s demise came out. Ratan Tata also had a good taste in cars, which we have mentioned on several occasions. Here we have a new set of images that have surfaced online showcasing a few unseen pictures of cars from Ratan Tata’s collection.
We all know that Mr. Tata had a soft spot for convertibles, and that clearly reflected in his car collection. The first car on the list is a Ferrari California hardtop convertible in Ferrari’s signature red shade. The pictures seen here were clicked in a basement parking lot, but we have seen Ratan Tata drive this car on public roads in the past. The car is powered by a 4.3-litre V8 and generates 490 bhp and 504 Nm of peak torque.
The next car in Ratan Tata’s garage is a Jaguar F-Type S. This is also a soft-top convertible and is finished in a shade of red. It looks like Mr. Tata imported the car to India, as this is an LHD version. The car is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine that generates 488 bhp and 625 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission, and power is sent to the rear wheels.
The next LHD car in Mr. Tata’s garage is a Cadillac. He owns a black Cadillac DTS 4-door sedan. The car has a chrome-plated grille and chrome wheels, giving it a proper American vibe. It is powered by a 4.6-litre V8 petrol engine and is mated to an automatic transmission.
This is a car that we have not seen much on the road, but it has been in Ratan Tata’s personal collection. The red Firebird 400 is a proper American muscle car with a 2-door layout. The car seen here is a convertible, and it looks in pristine condition. We do not have exact information about the engine on this American beauty.
Another car that we didn’t know Ratan Tata had in his collection is the Maserati Quattroporte. This is the fifth generation of the sedan, known as the M139. It was available with a 4.2-litre V8 and a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine. We are not sure which variant Ratan Tata owned.
Another American classic in the garage is a Buick LeSabre. He owns the sixth generation of this American saloon. Like any American car, the LeSabre was available with a massive engine. It was offered with a 3.0-litre V6 and two 3.6-litre V6 engine options.
Another convertible in Tata’s collection is the Chrysler Sebring. He had confirmed in interviews about this car, but we never saw any images of it online. He fell in love with the color of the car, and the same color was later used on the Tata Indica when it was showcased at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show. The car seen here is finished in red, and we are assuming that Mr. Tata got the car completely repainted.
The Cadillac XLR comes with a folding hardtop. It is finished in a sporty red shade and is powered by a 4.6-litre Northstar V8 engine manufactured by General Motors.
This is a car that Ratan Tata has been spotted driving on Mumbai roads several times. This is, again, an LHD 2-door convertible. It is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that generates 306 bhp.
