UP Woman On Royal Enfield Fights With Kerala Cops (Video)

Drunken driving is a criminal offence under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Drunk people ( irrespective of gender) often cause ruckus in public. We have come across several such instances in the recent past. The most recent of such cases is from Kochi. A young woman, reportedly from Uttar Pradesh, was seen fighting with the Kerala Police, after they tried to book her for drunk-riding a Royal Enfield Thunderbird.
The source of this story is a video shared by 24 News. It shows the lady arrogantly addressing the people around, saying ' Kerala lady nahi hein, samjha...Uttar Pradesh lady... " ( I am not from Kerala, I am from Uttar Pradesh) "Anju Bhadauria .. Thakur Anju Bhadauria" she continues. A guy is seen standing next to her.
She seems to be high on something (possibly alcohol), She says she is from UP and is into wrestling, before admitting that she is into drugs and alcohol. She goes on to say that if she was in her best form, should would have thrown at least four people with ease.
In the next episode, we see the cops approaching her. She is seen seated on the motorcycle. The guy, possibly her companion, is seen seated on the ground, embarrassed by the ruckus. A cop then tells her to get off the motorcycle. He then tells the guy that he would have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 the next morning (the entire action takes place at midnight!).
At this point, the lady intervenes and says that she will pay 1 lakh instead, because ' she loves her bike'! She continues to sit on it. The lady cops then ask her to get off, as they would want to seize the vehicle and shift it to the nearest police station. It is part of the standard operating procedure to do so if one is found driving/ riding under the influence of alcohol or substances.
The lady refuses to move and fights back when the cops try to exert physical force. In between she is seen saying 'come, let me see your energy levels' to the cops! (How high should one be to say so!) The guy watches the entire drama peacefully, before intervening to calm her down. What happened further in this incident remains unknown. We expect more details to surface in the coming days.
The motorcycle involved in this incident is a Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 with a number plate that reads 'KL 39 F 7734'. It seems to be registered under the Thripunithura RTO in Kochi. A quick check on the RC reveals the name of the owner to be Arun Dominic. It is unclear if it is the same guy seen in the video.
This incident was reported on April 11, 2025. On the same day, a challan was also issued for 'riding without a valid driving license'. The violator, as per the challan, wasn't Arun.
Cases of alcohol and substance consumption and driving or riding under the influence of these have lately been on the rise in Kochi. A recent combing operation by the Kochi City police resulted in 219 cases being registered against people who drove under the influence of alcohol.
It is shocking to realize that just a night's inspection exposed these many cases! Additionally, 60 cases of reckless driving were also registered. The Police department has made it clear that more initiatives to rein in rule violators of road and traffic rules.
