Actress Gets Porsche 718 Boxster Wrapped In Rose Pink Colour As Anniversary Gift [Video]

Indian actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar primarily works in the South Indian film industry. She is also the daughter of actor and former member of the Rajya Sabha R.Sarathkumar and is married to Nicholai Sachdev, a gallerist from Mumbai. The couple recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary, and the actress received a very precious gift from her partner- a Porsche 718 Boxster that has a custom Antique Rose wrap on it. Sachdev got it delivered to her apartment in Chennai, while he was still in Mumbai.
A video of Varalaxmi receiving the car has been shared on Instagram. It starts by showing her walking into a basement parking. She is seen in modest clothes. The Boxster is kept under a Red veil. A guy can be seen filming her. She unveils her anniversary gift, and is elated on seeing the 'Pink' Porsche. She says that it is 'very nice'. She opens the driver's side door and finds a bunch of pink balloons inside. This makes her laugh. Later in the video, we see Varalaxmi taking the Boxster for a spin.
The Boxster is a two-seater convertible sports car that has a last recorded (ex-showroom) price of over 1.5 Crore. Porsche has discontinued this car. The 718 Cayman and Boxster were both delisted from Porsche India's website in August 2024.
Porsche is known for offering extensive customisation options to its patrons. The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program offers seamless personalisation possibilities, especially in colours and trims. The folks at Stuttgart can get your Porsche painted in any colour of your choice. All you need is a deep pocket.
In this case, however, the Boxster seems to have been wrapped, not painted. Ceramic Pro, India's leading detailing studio, has done the Antique Rose wrap. It gets a matte finish, and could have cost much less. The Boxster has beautiful curves and clean lines. The Matte wrap highlights these.
Taking a closer look, we see that the side view mirrors are finished in Black. You can also see Black on the side vents, front bumper, and alloy wheels as well. The '718 Boxster' lettering also wears Black. It remains unclear if the cabin has had any additions or enhancements. It looks fairly stock in the video.
The 718 Boxster S used to come with an iconic engine- a 2.0-litre flat-four with an output of 300hp and 380 Nm. The gearbox here is an automatic unit. The 718 Boxster had a 0-100kph timing of 5.1 seconds. The top speed stood at 275 kph. The Boxster can give you the perfect 'wind-in-the-hair' experience.
In a more recent sighting, Varalaxmi was seen coming out of People Media factory, a Chennai-based film production and media company. A chauffeur brought the Porsche to her. The actress, dressed in a saree, then got into the driver's seat.
The video has been racking up views and gathering comments. Many congratulated the actress on the new car. A lot of comments also praise her husband for his gift. Varalaxmi seems to be having a good time in her married life.

The successors of the 718 family will be all-electric models. These will be underpinned by an electric sportscar platform. This, Porsche claims, will mimic the mid-engine character of the predecessor.
These electric sportscars will likely borrow design cues from the Mission R concept and offer a low seating position and will have a low centre of gravity.
The powertrain will use a new ‘e-core’ layout. The battery unit will be placed between the driver and the rear axle- like how the engine used to sit on the petrol-powered Boxster.
