In India, we have seen people celebrate even small things. The reason for their celebration is often simple. What may seem like a small achievement to others might have taken years of hard work for the person involved. Every year, we have thousands of aspirants who prepare for the UPSC examinations. They all work hard, but only a few clear the exams and interview. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and luck to actually become a civil servant.

If you are a person from a very humble background and you clear the exams to become an IAS officer, how would you celebrate? Well, here we have a video that shows just that.

The video has been shared by an X user, Ashok Shera, on his profile. In this video, we see Sukhram Bhunkar, a Rajasthani UPSC candidate who cleared the examination this year with AIR 448. The reason why the video has gone viral is because a user named Diva Jain decided to reshare the video and point out that the person arrived in an SUV worth crores. The user is, in fact, trolling the person who cleared the examination.

In the video, we see Sukhram Bhunkar arrive in his village in a Land Rover Defender, with a Porsche Cayenne SUV behind it. As he steps out of the vehicle, he is greeted by villagers with flowers and garlands. After this, a couple of students pick him up on their shoulders and walk toward the venue.

We also see a kid wearing an NCC uniform marching in front of the collector. From the original post, it was evident that Sukhram had left his village with the aim of becoming a civil servant, and he had promised that he would only return to the village after becoming an IAS officer.

He kept his promise and only returned after clearing the examination. What we see here in the video is simply the celebration of his family and friends in the village. The cars and all other arrangements seen in the video were probably organized by the villagers.

In small villages like the one Sukhram comes from, these achievements are huge—especially when you are from a poor family of farmers. This is an achievement that Sukhram’s family might never have dreamed of.

So, we feel that instead of trolling them online, we should appreciate the hard work that he put in. It is definitely a proud moment for everyone in his family and also his village.

The comment section under the video has responses like, “They are celebrating the fact that now he is going to make an insane amount of money through bribes. These folks hope he sends some of that money to them ?” and “I've been saying this for ages. Bureaucracy needs a lot of regulation.”

It felt like the woman who reposted the video did it for engagement on her profile. Not all comments are negative. There are people who are actually trolling the woman who reposted this video too.

Some of those comments are: “No Divya, there is something to be proud of in coming back as a collector, because for families who have been at the receiving end, it’s a big thing. Porsche in the background I am not sure of,” “He is not making anyone do anything. They are doing it out of their own sense of brotherhood,” and “Getting a voice in bureaucracy is a big deal for villagers. They see it as a door to the solution of problems. That Defender and Porsche could be hired just once—a collective show of village pride. No need to politicise it.”
