To win on social media with videos, you'll need to either educate people or shock them. Some people take the latter too seriously! We often come across content that shows bizarre and scary incidents. In a recent video shared on X (previously Twitter), we see what looks like a road rage between a Mahindra Xylo and an electric rickshaw. How it pans out would shock you.

The video starts by showing a Black Mahindra Xylo with a private number plate, stopped on the road, and an electric rickshaw standing nearby. The rikshaw driver gets out of his vehicle and rushes towards the Xylo, shouting at the occupants. The incident seems to have been filmed from a scooter that was parked behind the vehicles. The rikshaw driver engages in heated arguments with the people in Xylo and soon gets a stick out of the rickshaw to beat them up.

At this point, the rear right door of the Xylo opens and a man gets out with an AK 47 in hand. Terrified by the sight, the e-rikshaw driver runs for his life. The entire incident seems to be scripted. The AK47 could be a movie prop or a fake copy. For those unaware of the same, the AK47 (expands to 'Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947') is an assault rifle that has been part of the Indian army for decades. It is nearly impossible for a civilian to source one of these.

Forget flaunting it online, if you (as a civilian) are ever found to possess an AK47, you will be arrested immediately, under section 25 (1) (a) of the Indian Arms Act 1959. Atleast 5 years of imprisonment will await you, along with a long list of legal trouble.

Since no civilian can ever have the license to possess an AK47 in India, you will be interrogated severely. The backgrounds of you and your families will be dug out and probed for links with terrorist groups. You will be a suspect forever, and the cops can summon you whenever they want.

The Supreme Court (SC) of India had previously ruled to show no leniency in cases related to arms act. People found guilty under section 25 (1) (a) of the Arms Act will see no mercy from any court. The SC even opined that if anyone possessing arms and ammunition, (licensed or otherwise) carries it around with the intention of using it, is a potential threat to the larger public.

Thus, in all probability, the gun seen in the video could be fake and intended to be used for filming alone. The video, has, however, had massive traction online, possibly due to its shock value. The creators have incorporated many stereotypes in the video- like the e-rickshaw stands for the common man and the Black Mahindra SUV symbolises the stronger, wealthier and more powerful people. It also shows the aggressive nature of (some) rickshaw drivers.

While most people have understood its 'meme' nature, some users took the post too seriously. 'This is not a government car then how can he hold a weapon? Is this India? Which state?'- commented one. "When a weak person wants to express anger, but the one in front is far more powerful, they're forced to swallow their emotions. I had only read about this in books… but today, the situation at home made me live it." commented another.
