Tata Motors is currently one of the biggest automakers in India and now has many cars in its lineup, which are very popular. The company has also become synonymous with safety due to its solid build quality. However, the company is also disliked by many people because of its poor after-sales service and pathetic quality control. Recently, a video has gone viral on the internet in which a Tata Safari owner was seen being extremely frustrated because of 10+ breakdowns that took place over a span of more than a year.

Tata Safari: Multiple Breakdowns in Just Over a Year

This video, explaining all the issues faced by the Tata Safari owner in just a little over a year of ownership, has been shared on YouTube by Prateek Singh on his channel. He starts by mentioning that this particular Safari’s issues have been shared with him by one of his viewers.

As per the video, the owner of this Safari is from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, and he bought the top-of-the-line Accomplished+ variant of this SUV in February 2024. He then highlighted that ever since this owner brought the car home, it has only given him trouble. The creator started by stating that the first breakdown of this Safari took place just two months after delivery.

The owner, in his explanation, mentioned that he was once on a trip with his family when his car did not turn on. After that, when it did turn on, it started displaying all of the error codes on the digital instrument gauge cluster. Apart from this, the air conditioner, gearbox, and all the other electrical components stopped working. As a result, the owner had to take the vehicle to the service station.

Owner Shows All the Issues

Inside the video, there are multiple clips of the owner showing the vehicle not turning on and not going into gear. The clips also show the digital instrument gauge cluster displaying all of the errors, including the check engine light, ABS, TCS, and others. Also, the air conditioner of the vehicle stopped working, and the windows were rolling down extremely slowly.

The owner also highlights that, at the time this video was created, the vehicle was only 7-8 months old and had been to Tata service 7-8 times. He added that every time he went to the service center, they would fix some things and then hand him back the vehicle. However, in just a few days, all of the same issues would return.

In the clips, the owner also mentions that he paid around Rs 13,500 for the first service, and despite changing the battery and other parts, the issues still persisted. The owner stated that the first time these issues appeared, he was told that there was a current leak from the powered front seats. However, despite fixing these issues, his vehicle would stop functioning properly just a few days after taking it home each time.

What Happened Next?

Following the persistence of these issues, the owner of the car was told by Tata service center employees that the vehicle had a bad alternator, so they would need to replace it with a new one. Unfortunately, despite doing this, the vehicle still broke down a couple of times. After becoming frustrated, the owner contacted the YouTuber to help him share the issue.

To help him, the YouTuber first contacted Tata Motors and asked them to assist. As a result, Tata Motors sent an engineer to check this vehicle thoroughly and find out the issue. Following this, the engineer arrived, the electrical issues were fixed, and the owner was given a letter stating that his vehicle was now functioning properly and that he wouldn't face any trouble.

However, just two months later, all of the issues came back and rendered the vehicle useless. Currently, the owner of this Safari is extremely disappointed, and with the help of this video, he wants Tata Motors to either replace his vehicle or return his money. He is also open to the possibility of accepting the same car. However, he wants it fixed completely so that the issues never come back.
